Really dissapointed tonight going for a meal at aks indian. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took about 1 hour and 10 minutes to receive our main meal, and prior to this it took them about 15-20mins to ask us what we wanted to drink and bring poppadoms over. which i also had to ask how long our food was going to be and then he said it was sitting on the side. The excuse was loads of takeaway order which is fair enough but when your totally ignoring the customers infront of them is shocking. We then get the bill and by this time have been here about 1h 40 mins, we had been been charged £14 for 2 small cokes which comes out of a bottle and 2 shandys(daylight robbery). i questioned it and said dont you think you should knock a round off the bill for how long we was waiting for he just muttered we had takeaways. Even though earlier on in the evening a customer came in for his takeaway and got a free pint because he had to wait 5 minutes. Wont be going back to aks again after this even though we go there quite alot and order our takeaways from here very...
Read moreA solid 3.5, but there is no ambience and found it to be really pricey.
We came in early on a Friday and the place was empty. The heaters were all off and the restaurant was quite cold Inside, we even had to wear our jackets for a while.
There is little to no ambience, though the tablets are nicely set, there are makeshift walls or curtains blocking certain areas of the restaurant.
The menu is extensive and had a lot of options, veggie and non veggie but it was REALLY pricey for what it was.
We got two starters and they were both very small for £5 each, the main courses didn't come with Naan or rice, and each rice portion is super tiny for almost £3.5 . My Indian relatives would be in revolt if they ever saw the little amount of rice for that much.
The food was nicely seasoned, though I missed some fresh coriander or lime. The service was extremely friendly and the highlight of the visit but with these prices I would not recommend it. There are many other options out there with a MUCH...
