No.1 DoveHouse Parade — Restaurant in Metropolitan Borough of Solihull

Dovehouse parade is a lovely row of shops and eateries. No1 is far left as you look at them. Friendly, I'm guessing family run place, with good honest home cooked food, and great value too. We had lunch - paninis that came with chips, homemade coleslaw and crisp salad. Very tasty and a lovely experience. Lost a star because of the very large TV that was distracting. Much better with background music, if at all..... UPDATE SAT 8TH June 2024 - breakfast. TV now just shows pleasant background pictures - much better. We visited to sample the Caribbean food on offer Thu-Sat evenings. We tried the Jerk Chicken and Sauteed Chicken Medley which were both plentiful and very tasty indeed. Great value at £11 each to include a side order to go with the main meal. I would have preferred a slightly less bright room during the evening as it was not quite the ambiance for an evening meal. Also I didn't like the tv on showing boxing as well as music playing. The TV would be better having a music channel on or not at all....

Well cooked breakfast/brunch. The menu is small but perfect for the size of place and I’ve not had a bad meal. Sociable atmosphere and clearly a number of regular local visitors. The staff are pleasant and helpful, I just wish I’d seen more warmth and familiarity with all the customers: as a small local place it would make such a difference.

But all in all a lovely local business which deserves...
