This place is amazing. BUT - there's a problem - read on to see. Staff are friendly & excellent at their jobs & food is the best. Get a cake - we love them, that's why we always go back - & you should visit too. HOWEVER. Why 3 stars? I totally disagree with their pricing structure. They charge between 33% and 50% more to have an item hot. For example, a cheese & onion pasty is £1.75. If you want it hot, they add 40% increase in price to £2.45. So 70p to pop something in a microwave for 1 minute? Really? I'm not 100% sure if there's a government tax on heated up food - but if there is - that doesn't explain Wedges prices as the increase is not consistent. Note - this is not a difference in price of eat in/take out. It is a difference in price between hot or cold. I bought 4 items the other day - it cost nearly £4 for them to literally walk across to he microwave and press 1 button. Wrong way to treat customer. Feels like your getting ripped off. You are. It doesn't happen at Costa, Pret, Starbucks, Cafe Nero or Subway sandwiches - most of which are available in Solihull. But, the point of Wedges is that it's a 'local' business. Let's not loose it to these big brands. I raised this to the manager as genuine constructive criticism. If the pricing changes to something more fair I will change to a 5* review & edit review. But for now, I leave this place with a sour taste & a couple of quid lighter for absolutely nothing.

Repeatedly dissatisfied with the service here. Ordered two jacket potatos to go today. The staff made me feel as though I couldn't take the salad away with me that comes with the potatoes if ordered to stay in. I always have salad and cold slaw when I eat in, but to take away I had to pay extra and the standard of service I was provided while only asking the question was appalling. I have now paid nearly 10 pounds for two small jacket potatos and a terrible bit of salad. I'm disappointed

I have been using this bakery since lockdown but the last few weeks the service has been terrible, Monday the 16th I order bacon and sausage sandwich , I get home and unwrap it to find I have an egg sandwich, well done! 3 days later I return and order two bacon and sausage sandwiches and when I get home both are sausage and egg, I’ve attached a pic so you can see the standard of eggs this bakery is serving up. 1 star is generous

I ordered a steak and oinion sandwich at 3.45pm. Upon arrival I noticed the staff were not interested that we had walked through the door and sounded slightly annoyed when we placed and order for a warm sandwich. I asked for my sandwich to go an while the girl was waiting for sandwich meat to be prepared slid her phone out her pocket and tried her hardest to conceal her phone. I then asked her why at 3.45 they would be preparing to shut up shop and she replied because we close at 4.30. I arrived opened my food nearly 5 minutes of receiving my items to find steak which was tough rubbery and over cooked to the point where it has no flavour, the only nice part was the fresh bread it was served on. I must say that for an established bakery such as wedges it is such ashame that the staff let down the company brand by offering up shoody service and food clearly prepared without the company's reputation in mind. I hope this review finds the right person who will take note and implement changes to this establishment before you turn into a high...

I use wedges often and I was excited to take my girlfriend, however the experience was very disappointing, we were ignored by staff, when trying to order, we eventually managed to order a bacon and cheese toastie and a sausage and egg sandwich to eat in. Upon receiving the order it was in a takeaway bag along with the coffee and the order was wrong as I recieved a bacon and egg sandwich, I sent it back and when I received the correct order the bread was stuck to the paper bag and wasn't edible, on the 3rd attempt I asked for a ham and cheese toastie which was thrown together and had absolutely no taste, the manager did offer me a free muffin but as you can imagine I had lost my appetite and declined. I will be sticking to the Hockley Heath branch. Avoid this branch if you can, there also isn't any parking. Utterly...
