The Lime Tree — Restaurant in Mid Devon

I discovered this place some months ago, and have been back at least once a week, sometimes more often since then.

It is a lovely place where I can sit down with a coffee and read a book on a Saturday afternoon. Great coffee and loose leaf tea.

I have had a chance to sample many things on the menu from the afternoon tea to the bagels, and the full English. I have yet to be disappointed, and instead I am constantly surprised by the quality of the food. Most places, when they offer scrambled egg on toast, will serve a slice of basic soggy toast with a small scoop of curdled rubber on top. But here, the toast was great, and the eggs were beyond awesome; lovely and creamy.

Tried the eggs Benedict on their Christmas menu, and yet again, I was surprised at how good it was. The hollandaise sauce was perfect, the eggs poached to absolute perfection.

The cakes are also worth it. No matter what you choose, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed.

Finally, the service is excellent. I'm never waiting too long for anything, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Perfectly situated in the centre of the historic town Cullompton. Parking near was fine. The vibe straight away was cosy and chill No rushing about. Well organised staff and a very well organised menu. I started off with a coffee as im a coffee snob. Came out under 3 minutes. It was perfect and too my liking as I asked. I am vegetarian and there was plenty of choice in the menu for me. I ordered the quorn chilli. I wish I had taken a photo of it. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was perfect. I was impressed with the conveniences in the w/c just shows that every little detail has been made perfectly into this place. I spoke with the staff and they confirmed that all that I had consumed was locally sourced and chosen by the owner even my coffee which impressed me. Had the best ever poached eggs in my eggs Benedict, bacon was good quality, had an extra black pudding. Brilliant. Coffee was awesome, they use the roastworks truth coffee for decaffeinated, which is one of the best local blends. Clean and well laid out interior. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was fast. Kitchen is open so you can see staff working which I feel is reassuring in any restaurant. Definitely raised their game. Cake selection was good and they looked appetising. Highly recommended 👍....
