Wouldn't even like to give one star, but wouldn't let me post review without. I witnessed the most disgusting behaviour on Easter Sunday, and I'll NEVER step foot through those doors again! A fairly large family with a few children, including a baby & toddler were approached by the manager, who proceeded to pick up the toddler and put him in the highchair, which caused him some distress. The mother, who was very pregnant took him back out to comfort him. For a few minutes the little boy did have a few whinges, but nothing that was bothering me & my table. The manager then had the audacity to approach that table again and say you're gonna have to do something about this, we've got a full restaurant today, and it was him that had upset the child in the first place. This poor very pregnant lady then had to go outside with her child whilst they waited for their food. Meanwhile another table made comments about this family, and very sadly they felt they had to get up and leave. This is clearly not a very child friendly pub, and no doubt the Norton Dog is responsible for ruining their Easter Sunday. Unacceptable!!
I unfortunately can not see how to respond, so I will edit instead in the hope you will see my response. I was not part of that table at all, and that blonde lady with the little boy in question was most certainly very very pregnant, I'm not entirely sure how you missed that! How would you possibly know if I was on another table or not, do you require the names of all of your customers, if that was the case then you would also know I was not part of that party!! I do not condone the actions that took place afterwards, however, had it have been dealt with better initially from yourself then no doubt it wouldn't have escalated to where it did. And in regards to the screaming, it was just a short whinge, if you have 7 children as you say, then you should know that. I literally witnessed your actions, you can't lie to me, only yourself and anyone reading this review. You handled the situation badly, it's as...

Looked through the menu, ordered a ploughman’s and specified vegan which the waiter had no problem with. When the food came out, food services was rapid however what came on the plate was not a ploughman’s (two pieces of homemade bread, small dish of olives, half apple, piccalilli, salad and small wedge of butter). I ate all of the food as it was nice. Went to go pay at the bar for a full price ploughman’s (£16) as expected, my friend asked why was there no substitute in the ‘vegan’ ploughman’s for cheese and was told that I ordered the vegetarian ploughman’s and not the vegan as it was not stated on the menu (which was my fault, and I apologise). However, the waiter who happily took my order should have explained to me that there wasn’t vegan ploughman’s on the menu and to order something different that was vegan, which I would have been happy to do. Stood there waiting to pay with my card out, I was informed by the owner that the ploughman’s wasn’t £16 and it was £10 due to the lack of vegan alternatives on the plate because that’s what I thought i ordered. Whilst trying to pay, he took the critique on the service too personally, in my opinion. He scrunched the receipt up in his hands, and threw it in the bin and exclaimed that it was on “us”. It left us feeling very shocked and no longer welcome as we were being talked down to and being patronised whilst asking about simple dietary requirements. My gripe with the service is that I wasn’t informed on place of order that there was not a vegan ploughman’s on the menu, which would have saved a whole...
Read moreMyself and 3 others were very much looking forward to coming for a meal but definitely won't be back. My 2 friends were early, so they had a drink while waiting for us, when we arrived, no one came over, so I went to the bar area to try to ask for drinks, and the young man behind the bar Completely ignored me, whilst slamming things down and slamming fridge doors ect, looking extremely agitated by the sheer fact I was standing there! In the end I asked at the check in desk for drinks, the girl said ok, and then went off somewhere else, then young man came over to see if we were ready to order food, so we said we would like a drink first. Then asked staff if we could order food which was then ordered. Food was nice, chips were lovely, roast dinner was a little small. We finished dinner and had afters, all items banged down on table, then were asked for our table! All very odd, very rushed, staff seemed harassed, I do understand sundays are busy, but we meet regularly and go for meals and all places we go to are busy, but staff are courteous and we are never rushed. I know il get a lot of angry answers from owner, as I've seen other negative reviews and they all received backlash, but to be honest, I don't care what you will comeback with, as no busy pub should act in that way, also prices are fairly high in comparison to other lovely...
