This is a village community pub and it is fine for a drink. Food service hours are unfortunately reduced, which is a shame but understandable in the current economic situation. As it is a local pub it’s clientele seems to be almost exclusively local people, so you do get the startled stunned silence and looks of surprise from the regulars when you first go in! The single member of staff on duty when I visited was distracted with conversations about holidays or something similar, that resulted in an few awkward moments just standing in front of the bar feeling a bit ignored. Well kept ale, 3 regular pumps and a guest that changes one barrel at a time. Roaring open fire in the winter.
Food is great, homely well cooked and reasonably priced.
Fresh fish and chips on a Friday including takeaway. Great steaks and burgers, steak specials on Thursday. Children's menu too.
Pool, darts and outside seating.
Occasional special events and music, certainly worth a visit. Open every day.... Early until late. Cracking atmosphere ...... The kind of place you really want...

There were 21 of us altogether including 2 vegetarians, we pre- ordered 19 roast dinners and 2 fish dishes for 1pm on Sunday 17th March. The service was excellent and all the food came out piping hot, everything was perfect and we were all very impressed with the quality of the food including the lovely desserts. Would highly recommend this lovely friendly and accommodating pub set in the heart of a beautiful little village ! Also great value...
