Really disappointed with this place It looked good initially and liked garden area. However the food took a long time to arrive and when it did there were problems. The presentation of the beef burger and chips was great and size of beef was large which was good however when biting into it the bap was hot but the burger cold. When this was very politely raised the handling of the complaint was appalling. First they denied and contradicted it was cold When eventually took it away to reheat it took another 20 to 30mins by which time the rest of us had finished our meal When it arrived there was no apology for the delay and the burger had been burnt crisp on one side. The measure of how good a business is can be seen in the way they handle concerns and this was a textbook case of how not to do it. Was a real shame that their handling had been so rude as we had been thinking of inviting whole family for meal in garden but now we won't be visiting again. There is another great country pub the otherside of the green so will be going there in future. Maybe they were just having a bad day but rudeness to customers is never appropriate. Very sad as other...

We recently celebrated my mum’s 60th birthday at The Jolly Tanners, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I got in touch, Roisin was phenomenal — so easy to communicate with, incredibly helpful with planning and ideas, and wonderfully flexible with the space. She made the whole organising process smooth and enjoyable, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

The entire team at the pub were fantastic — warm, welcoming, and on the ball. The service throughout the event was excellent, and everyone was so friendly and approachable. The food was also a real highlight — delicious, well-presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests.

The pub itself is just beautiful, set in a stunning location with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I was so impressed with everything from start to finish. A huge thank you to Roisin and the team — you made a special occasion truly...

My husband and I ate at the Jolly Tanners for the first time on a Friday night. The atmosphere was really welcoming with a mix of friends and families (they have a good supply of high chairs) dining and drinking. We were seated at a lovely table. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the monk fish and the beef fillet. Both had wonderful flavour (without being overpowering) and were cooked perfectly. The dessert was beautiful, Mille-Feuille with calamansi (a delicious citrus fruit from the Philippines) custard. They went above and beyond regarding my special dietary requirements. I was very grateful. It’s a new experience for me, specifying what I can’t eat and they were so accommodating.

The Jolly Tanners is a treasure.

Thank you so much Jolly Tanners, we’ll see you on...

Location has real potential but something’s going wrong somewhere. A spacious, well maintained beer garden was barely half full when we stopped in on a sunny bank holiday afternoon. But service was achingly slow across the piece despite a seeming surfeit of staff. We waited nearly 90 mins for 2 meals of middling quality (and they’d run out of condiments), and were definitely not alone in the wait. Service was pleasant but not enough to encourage a return visit.

Absolutely loved this place! Warm, welcoming atmosphere with super friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was top-notch -with some classic pub fare, done really well (the lamb dish was a standout!). Great selection of local ales and everything came out quickly and piping hot. We sat in the garden which is perfect for families as there is a great play mound and swing. Will definitely be returning when in the area.
