I could not find one fault with the meal and experience we had at the Victory. The food was delicious, if only we could have tried more because everything was so good. Staff were friendly and the service was perfectly timed. The pub has implemented COVID rules however they do not take away from the experience and you feel perfectly safe (all staff wore face masks). Definitely recommend visiting and supporting a local pub.

Lovely oldish pub sitting on the green. Ideal for sitting outside and watching the local cricket scene. Also a really nice food menu. I really liked the friendly, relaxed, professionalism of the, er, 'bar guy' (sorry, don't know the correct term. But he's been at the Victory for a few years).

Stopped into this local pub on the way to Brighton. It was amazing! The seasoned fries were perfect and the burger was lovely. Totally recommend to anyone nearby. Lovely staff and a very homely feel. There was a log-burner to keep us warm as well which was nice on a cold day.

My partner and I showed up around 12pm on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago without a reservation and the manager and staff were super kind and measured no efforts to try and accommodate us even though they were fully booked. The food, from start to finish, was simply amazing. We had this lovely crispy calamari fritti for starters which was delicious (the dipping sauce that came with it was divine!) and I had the grilled swordfish cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and accompanied by this most delightful Mediterranean summer roasted vegetables. The desserts were beautifully presented, delicately petite and full of flavours (nothing puts me off more, like most other pubs do, when I'm served a huge piece of dessert that looks like a brick in my plate - I strongly believe that when it comes to desserts, you're meant to be left with a feeling of wanting more and not with a sugar comatose). We'd driven 1h30min from London to visit a local attraction, Nymans, but this pub was definitely the highlight of the day. Great service, amazing food and beautiful location with lots of parking space. We'd easily drive back 1h30min just to eat there again. Highly...

Awful experience. Waited over 45 minutes for food (we ordered 5 Roasts) had to ask how long it would be only to find out our order had been forgotten about and was being prepared now. After this conversation we were told that some of our food didn’t go through the till so wouldn’t be served to us. After waiting even longer we then got our food but it was not enjoyable and they served us 1 bowl of veg to feed 5 people. The food was not good. Told the manager about it and she was rude and obnoxious and questioned my complaint and made some rude remarks whilst at the table. My daughter then went up and tried to sort the situation out but was met with a lot of animosity and was barged out the way by the manager. We said we were not paying for the food as none of it was touched but did offer to pay for the drinks but was told we didn’t have too (the only positive about the meal) Excuses were made about the chef falling unwell but we were not made aware of this nor did we get any type of apology from any members of staff. Safe to say we will not...

My partner myself and adult daughter drove out for sunday lunch. Was met by a very frost lady with short bleached hair who was rude and unhelpful. When we asked for a table for 3 she pointed her finger at a peice of paper tapped it and asked if we had a booking. We said sorry no we didn't realise you need a book. We looked around the garden that had at least 10 tables all empty and without any reserved signs on and said to her are you sure we can't have a table. She stabbed her finger back on the hand written sheet of paper and said coldly yes I'm sure. In a very agrivated voice and un pleasant posture. We have NEVER ever been made to feel less wanted or welcome ever. We got back in our car and drove off to another pub who welcomed us and couldn't not be more accommodating without a booking. We spent a lot of money in that pub! I will never reccomend the victory to anyone. I was that disgusted with the woman's attitude. If I could leave zero...
