Today (15/10/24) Was reluctant to visit after publication recently of cleanliness report from local authority. But son drove me there, so no choice. Lots of food discounted to 50% off. Sounds good but check your receipt! My 2 sandwiches were discounted but not the 2 half price cakes. A 2nd visit to the till resulted in a refund of the two cakes (supposedly back on my phone payment card) and a recharge of the two discounted cakes. There "may" be a delay in refunds (? Benefit of the doubt), but some 3-4 hours later I have both charges (make instantyto my account) and no refund. Place is also badly understaffed. They are friendly and hardworking but cannot keep up. Do, please keep an eye on your receipt and any refunds!
Previous feedback: I used the Drive Thru again today. Less of a long queue than yesterday, but still cocked up my order. I was asked to wait upon arrival at the order station (happens every time now, even though only one car in front of me, already at the window). A few moments later my order was taken: 1 pack triple chic biscuits, a Salted Caramel frappe with cream and coffee and a Caramel chilled latte. I drove up to second position. Once previous driver left I moved forward to the window where a male staff member took my online Costa card and my payment. He then passed me my pack of triple chocolate biscuits. After what seemed like a wait of several minutes, he disappeared. I waited. Then another young man arrived and asked me for Costa card details and payment. I explained I'd already paid. He asked what I'd ordered so I told him a frappe and a chilled latte. He said, I don't know why the order has been duplicated then and passed me 2 drinks. It wasn't until I reached my destination that I realised my Frappe didn't have the coffee in I had requested. I then remembered that the car behind had been asked if they wanted coffee and cream with something and had answered no to coffee. I now believe I probably got their almost identical order,and the first guy who "disappeared" probably had my drinks. The frustrating thing is , this is NOT the first time similar mishaps have happened. I've also been trapped in a hugely slow moving queue at this drive thru before. Read moreI visited this morning (8:30am, 11th July 2024) to get a Cappuccino on way to work, haven’t been here before. As I walked in I saw the queue of about 6 people and only one person serving, another person on drive through and my heart sank as I thought it was going to take ages. Well, while one person can only go so fast, it helps when the person serving is on it and this guy really was! He was fast, efficient, polite, friendly, quick and my coffee was great. He even noticed I had a Costa card and hadn’t used it and asked me for it so he could put it through after. Even though he was up against it with the queue (serving and making coffee and getting food), he didn’t miss a beat. He asked me if I would like anything else (upselling), making sure I got my points and was calm and pleasant throughout. I didn’t catch his name but he had amazing curly hair - that’s for the managers reference. He’s an absolute credit to this Costa. Work ethic like this needs recognising and rewarding.
Also the lady on the drive through, while she wasn’t serving me was just as on it. Serving, making coffee, getting food, not missing a beat, not stopping, keeping calm and with a smile on her face.
If you have to wait for your order here it’s probably because they are short on staff, not because of the staff working at the time who are grafting.
