Great Bookham Tandoori Restaurant — Restaurant in Mole Valley

Ordered a takeaway on Saturday night at 7.20 and was told no problem ready in 40mins. When i got to the restaurant at 20.00 there was quite a que at the counter and lots of unhappy people sitting in the restaurant, after about 10mins a waiter asked my name and went to find out when my order would be ready, he returned a few mins later and said it was just being baged up so would not be long. I wasn't sure about that answer as there were still lots of people in front of me waiting at the counter. We all kept asking and the answers we got was 10 mins, 10mins, after an 1 hour went past now (21.00) I went to the counter and strongly wanted some answers as they were just being greedy in taking customers orders when they clearly had no intention of keeping to any sort of time frame or care for the customers in takeaway orders or the poor people sitting in the restaurant. I eventually got my food at 21.20 so a 2 hour wait, which was the same for the people i spoke to sitting down. I was in that restaurant waiting for 1hr 20mins they didn't even offer something to drink or refund my money. A really poor service by them as they shouldn't take orders if they get that busy out of respect for all customers. PS. The food is fairly good but not the best around they play on a captive audience for the area. Not good avoid them for their greed...

Got a takeaway from here tonight to treat ourselves. Good customer service and very polite and didn’t even have to ask for 15% off, it was automatically given. Portion sizes where good and plenty of chicken in all the curries, and the chicken was so moist it was gorgeous. This was nice for a change as in many curry places I find that there is more sauce than a anything else and meat can be quite dry and tough. Sharing starter as well was enough for 4 people so good value for money. Everything tasted lovely and was piping hot. Only little thing was that the sharing starters were a little cold compared to the rest of the food but still tasted good. And also the peshwari naan did not have much flavour. Do have to say their service was outstanding, unfortunately the food was far from great. Veg curry side was more potato than anything else and very,, very salty. The saag paneer had 4 small lumps of cheese and was really bland. The shashlick was OK but not very flavoursome, the onions could have been trimmed more as felt the outer skin was similar to tiger grass. I will say the rice and garlic naan were really tasty, unfortunately my partners main was also very bland.
