This is a true gem of a place - a warm, friendly, personalised welcome awaited us when we visited yesterday (Mother's Day). Everything about the King Rufus ticked all my boxes: the care for customers, the delicious toasties and warm brownies, tasty coffee made with care, a full selection of drinks behind the bar, board games to play and beautiful surroundings.
The chilled music that played meant that we spent 2 hours relaxing and enjoying our visit. Mike and Cat the owners were so lovely, and as a dog-friendly place, we were able to bring our furry girl with us. She enjoyed a cooked sausage which was no trouble to ask for :)

I'd love to be able to come on a Saturday but I think the "leave them wanting more" mentality is at play here.
