I was genuinely amazed that this tide Mill still exists, given the timber construction and what happened inside, but am very pleased that it does and am delighted that it is still working, even if only one of the four sets of wheels are currently operational. The neighbouring cafe and exhibition are an integral part of the experience and I found the exhibition to be very informative. Car parking is by the cemetery which is a short walk from the mill and is accessible via a historic toll bridge. Read moreLI began work there as part of the refurbishment team.The main build to the new snack bar and educatilon centre was due to be completed 22 weeks after the commencement of work mid may 2017.I left to go on holiday end of october after being told the project would end xmas 2017.Please note a seperate company are due to complete the fit out to the snack bar and education centre,furniture, displays etc.There are delays and i left because i couldn't see the end and didn't want to miss out on my 2wks "summer" holiday.It will open im sure.Not sure when.I worked at what will be the new education centre and snack bar.I fear the mill itself may take longer...
Read moreA wonderful little Museum for those with a love of history, where this tide mill is partially restored to be working and producing flour, from its origins back as far as the 1700's if not before. Well worth a look. Leading up to it beware of the disappearing road signs from the A326, that said there is a great car park just before you enter the cemetery and lovely walk across the bridge. Also be careful of the traffic which uses the narrow Toll Bridge. Lovely spot to view the boats associated with the Eling Sailing Club ( Which occupies the other section of the Mill as its Club House) as well as the tranquil milll pond and its restored...
