The London Tavern — Restaurant in New Forest

Wow. Could just leave it there with wow to be honest! What a meal! My partner and I were originally planning to go to a differnt pub a litrle while away, but thank God we didn't! The London Tavern was amazing. The second we walked in I fell in love. Wonderful atmosphere lovely staff, great drinks selection and nice hapoy locals. Walking in a hearing laughter and feeling warm is an instant winner. Ontop of that a wonderful covered garden with lights and heaters. Top notch!

Onto the food... Just to start, the waitress kinda laughed when I ordered all our food... And it was a challenge to finish the massive portions hahaha but it was heaven in every mouth full from start to finish. Halloumi fried and squid rings to start, soft, tender, crispy on the outside and piping hot in the middle. Absolute magic! We were recommended to go for the Rubs by a lovely local and his pup Luna, my word, was thw size of half a pig, succulent smokey, loads of bbq sauce. Just wonderful! And real challenge to finish but we battled through!

Dessert... If you don't have the sticky toffee pudding and almost cry at every bite how good it is... Then you're dead inside! Indulgent doesn't even begin to cover it. We left with lighter wallets and stomachs so full I don't need to eat for a week. Again I'm so so happy our first choice let us down as this place really made our little trip away. Real hidden gem. To all the staff how we saw on our trip, you are a true credit to your team and to the hospitality industry! Keep those smiles and magic personalities! You guy and your venue are amazing!...

We have driven past this pub before but didn't get a chance to go in. We were looking for a sunday lunch spot whilst on holiday and the reviews seemed good. Wow, we were blown away! Love the atmosphere and the pub aesthetic. Staff were lovely and the food....wow! Roast pork and chicken were amazing, everything was delicious. Also, a little random, the gravy was magnificent. Some pubs serve gravy water with their roasts but it was rich and delicious. Our 4 year old needed to bale so no dessert but we are so impressed we will try to come back later in the week to try out the weekday menu. Update: went back for a roast April 2024 - just as amazing as last time. Delicious. Fantastic range of vegetables served with dinner. Kids meal was generous and yummy (according to my 5 year old) and we had desserts - best end of a meal. Can't wait to...

Not great. Asked to order via the app, waited over 45 mins for food with no communication from staff that there would be a delay. When politely asking about how long it would take we watched the manager (assume this was her role) say to the member of staff "it'll be ready when it's ready" which we were then told in a more polite manner a moment afterwards. 20 more mins go by and eventually we get our food. Safe to say it is pretty poor and has been knocked together in a few minutes as we are very certain they had forgotten our order. To add insult to injury we watched a family of six arrive, order and eat in the time we waited. We were only two people and it was close to 9pm, we had arrived at 7:30. Only giving the two stars as the FOH staff were friendly and apologetic. Sadly we left hungry and...
