The Brews Brothers - Pub & Kitchen — Restaurant in Newark and Sherwood

We visited on a Saturday night to try their steak meal deal...2 x 10oz rump steaks with tomatoes, rocket, chunky chips, a choice of sauce and 1/2 litre carafe of house wine for £50.

Food was fantastic, we ordered the steaks to be medium rare, but they came out perfect medium, we didn't say anything as they did taste good. Tomatoes were really soft, had lots of flavour and cooked well done as we requested, only downside was taking them off the vine, which was a bit of a pain.

Atmosphere wasn't great as it was soo noisy and we had to sit in the middle of the restaurant. The service was a little disappointing too, we had to order drinks from the bar, this included having to remind about the carafe of wine, whereas other tables were getting table service. We also had to go to the bar to ask for the bill.

However, the sauce portion sizes with the meal were huge, we ordered extra to try and asked if the portion size would be smaller as not to waste too much, which they did.

Despite the disappointing atmosphere and service, the food certainly wasn't and deserves 5 stars.. we will come back again to have...

I’ve never been so embarrassed that they refused to serve my daughter without any explanation to why!! I have never had such a bad experience in my life , I asked the bar lady what had my daughter had said that she felt she could not serve her and that she was barred and her response was “it’s the way she spoke to me” my daughter asked what she had said as she wanted to apologise!!! But the the response was “ no need for apologise your barred “ at least let us know why you are barring someone and allow them to apologise, this is so disconcerting of a business!!!! Update!!! After reading your response I can only presume that you and your staff don’t want to respond in person when asked very politely but you are more than happy to go into a full explanation on social media and also more than happy to tell your customers in person about the so called overly dramatised incident. The approach you have taken is to shame someone which quite honestly is disgusting, my daughters behaviour may not have been the best but you really need to have a word about...

This place is very much a "trendy" place. The service is great and chargers at wall tables for devices is a great touch. The food is excellent quality. I had a variety of bits from the menu and they were all great. The stars of the show are definitely the burgers there. Freshly made and cooked properly to medium rare as standard, as they should be. The prices at this place are not for the more thrifty among us. Its about 30 quid a head including one drink. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the £11 burger doesn't even come with so much as a small portion of fries AND it doesn't seem to mention this on the menu. I think most of us would expect at least a small portion with it. On top of this a small portion of fries sets you back £3.50 from memory? Great food and worth the price tag but a handful of fries thrown in...
