Outstanding! We had dinner at The Crown yesterday evening with family we were visiting, who'd been recommended to try it, and we weren't disappointed. We'd made an early booking so were the first people there, but it soon became very busy and, having eaten there, I can understand why as the food was excellent. My steak & ale pie came with lashings of gravy and was the best I've had in a long time. I also got to try the roast pheasant and the cheese & onion pie, both of which were delicious and went down very well on our table! I didn't have room for dessert, but couldn't resist the home made bakewell tart so had to share one and can recommend that too! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. If we lived closer, we'd definitely return! Thanks to all at The Crown for a...

They put us by the back door which we had just come through closest table to the back door so less walking and not too far from the bar as I am disabled and also the barman gave me a straw on his own merit for me at the beginning to drink when I asked for a wine glass for my water as I find it hard lifting.

We both had the fish pie and it got served with an assortment of lovely vegetables. We tried "The Crown Legend" which was tasty. I have one complaint - the Fish pie was enormous (we could have shared one) so we couldn't get dessert as we both couldn't finish our fish pies - so me being me I asked and they gave me a doggy bag which was lovely so I had the rest of mine for dinner as it was good.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. 👍

So next time I will have less of my main and save room for dessert and hopefully get a doggy bag again so I can enjoy it...

Just had a meal here and it was absolutely awful, although my husbands meal was OK ,for me it was the worst meal I have had anywhere, my burger just cost £19.00 and had to send it back due to blood coming out and covering the roll, when they brought it back i think it had been microwaved (including lettuce)until it was like rubber with absolutely no taste whatsoever ,as I'm in the catering business myself and sell lovely quarter pound burgers for £4.50 ,I expected a little more for my money ,no onion rings, no coleslaw, no side salad and frozen chips !!,it was terrible, we did notice that the price's have increased quite a lot ( very expensive).!!! We have been going here for over 20 years but unfortunately we will not be returning again as there are places must better...

What a lovely pub! There were nine of us including my 8 year old son. We had a proper Sunday Pub supper and I can't say enough wonderful things about the food service and the welcoming atmosphere! When you walk in it just feels like a warm hug! My husband and I had the Sunday roast with Yorkshire. Very traditional, very delicious! My son had pasta and French fries (he is very picky, so we were glad the staff made accommodations for him). Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was next level amazing. Highly recommend!

Wonderful evening meal at the Crown on Tuesday evening as always consistently excellent. Went for the old favourite Haloumi skewers with salad and chips (their own not frozen) with special curry sauce. food very tasty and portions huge with lots of fresh ingredients. Always usually busy but easy to book. Wide selection of drinks and real ales kept well with good selection (Including thornbridge and titanic) definitely recommended for value for money.

We went to the Crown for the first time last night. We booked a table for 8pm and had a drink in the bar before we sat down. Staff all really friendly and really nice atmosphere. There wasn't any starters but when you saw the size of the mains we were glad we didn't have any!! My kids that the fish and chips, I had the steak pie and my wife had the fish pie. The food was amazing 10/10!! We are definitely coming again!!
