Vanilla and Dreams — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

We attended here for my partners birthday, whilst the food itself was nice the customer service however left a lot to be desired. We walked in and had a table booked so we went to the till to ask and were pointed to a table. We were not given a menu nor told whether it was table service or if we had to order at the till. We waited 5 minutes at the table then decided to go to the till to order. As someone who had not been here before and had no clue what the process was this was very disappointing and i think it would have been nice to have had friendlier staff and a bit more communication on what to do. Would like to share my experience ordering a cake from Vanilla and Dreams bakery. The lady that we talked to before ordering was very knowledgable (my apologies for not remembering the name). She gave a great advice and we agreed about extras. We ordered a cake for our daughter’s 5th birthday, I saw it on the day of the party when I got to the venue. The cake absolutely hit all our expectations! It was so beautiful and delicious! I would highly recommend ordering a cake from this place and we will definitely be returning back. I visited today with my Mum because I had heard that V&D had had a revamp. It was so beautiful inside, the pastel colours and plush chairs reminded me of a vintage Parisian parlour! The staff were wonderful, and I treated myself to an iced latte and vanilla cupcake. It was utterly delicious and the presentation was immaculate.
