The Victoria Inn — Restaurant in Newport

Asked staff if it was OK to have meals with my assistant dog, they said yes in bar area, they saw the dog was well behaved and just laid down next to us, so the staff said its noisy in bar area you can go into the lounge to eat, so we did, the dog as usual lay quietly and doesn't shed fur plus we have had a table in the far corner The food was excellent and the staff were great, We were then most disappointed to find the landlady had told the staff it's fine to finish the meal and drinks but couldn't return with the dog which was a great shame as we use to visit the pub many years ago and I have just moved to the area. As we were leaving I was told that seems unfair by a regular customer and that a woman sat far from us complained about the dog being there. Nice pub, great food, lovely staff,...

We had my 50th birthday celebration at The Vic yesterday and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better venue! 🎉 From start to finish, the team were absolutely fantastic—friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly.

The buffet was incredible—great value for money with a brilliant selection of food, beautifully presented and enjoyed by everyone. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and just perfect for a special occasion.

Friendly and Relaxed place. Really good menu of inexpensive but well portioned meals. The Sunday Lunch is a particularly good. Nearly always a couple of specials on offer to give variety if your a frequent visitor. Good selection of beers and spirits etc which are well kept and served. Very friendly staff who are just as happy if you order a coffee or a large round. They also have a nice beer garden with shaded and sunny tables plus a playground for young childrens...
