After a glorious afternoon at the beach, my partner and I decided to have a meal at the Waverley. We are familiar with the pub as we live locally and know that whenever we visit, it is a good experience. We definitely weren't disappointed again as the food was prompt, well cooked and delicious. I decided on the specials Chicken platter but swapped out the normal fries for dirty fries with extras, sweet chili sauce and doner meat. My partner opted for the Scampi, chips and peas. Both meals were reasonably priced and very enjoyable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and willing to accommodate extras, like cordial shots in drinks, and options with the meals. One thing I will say is the manager may need to update the ordering and till system, but this was a small issue and did not at all affect our visit. Other than that a thoroughly good hour or so spent in a relaxing place with a nice atmosphere. The pub is set in a good location with access points for all and free parking, in the pub garden there is decent seating and a marquee which hosts live entertainment, bed and breakfast is also available at good rates. Last visit we were in the garden and the pub cat came and visited for belly rubs. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat or socialise.

I have not eaten here yet, but I will. The food looks great, and appears to be very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and, despite me being of Scottish extraction, people actually go out of their way to talk to me, which is nice.😂 A proper community pub, in my opinion. Recommended

Lovely atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff. Food freshly cooked to order, really tasty and a great choice on the menu. The desserts are delicious, the key lime pie is worth the visit on its own 😍

Owner was so full of him self the rooms were so dated that you can hear what everyone in every room is doing was there 10 days and only had my bedding changed after 9 days pointless. Wasn’t aloud to part the van in the car park because he needed room for other people wasn’t aloud food in my own room had to sit in the car to eat it prices for food were absolutely stupid plus the food was terrible plus the drinks were overprice the location isn’t bad nice beer garden but the rest worse place I’ve stayed by far wouldn’t recommend to anyone plus he charge me £900 for 10 day and then went on to brag about how he doubled his price for us plus we didn’t even have a bathroom in our room for that price had to have a shared bathroom please if your going Newport Isle of Wight do not go...

One star is being generous the room was horrible walls were dirty the window rattled and had carboard in to keep it owner was so full of him self about the hotel the tub was terrible the beds were uncomfortable and he didn’t bother to change the sheets the whole 10 days I was there even tho we paid £900 for that room and we didn’t even get our own bathroom we had to go downstairs for it. The food was disgusting and over priced frozen food the noise from the cross road was terrible as the building wasn’t insulated plus we could hear everything from everyone’s room wasn’t even aloud to park the van in the pubs car park even tho we were staying there wouldn’t recommend to anyone premier inn is cheaper and so much better don’t waste your money and stay far far away...
