I ordered a birthday cake for a family member’s 80th Birthday. It was actually my present for my brother in law, getting a special cake for such a milestone birthday. Alan was recommended to me on a local FB page. I’m sorry to say that the decoration of the cake was awful, not at all professional and it didn’t taste of the coffee flavour that I had asked for and it wasn’t a nice sponge cake, it was very heavy & dense. I was embarrassed when the cake was brought out at the party and even more embarrassed when no-one could take more than one mouthful. The majority of the cake was thrown away. Due to the cake looking & tasting like nothing I’ve seen or tasted before, I had it examined and I learned that it was made using dairy free products. Something that I did not ask for or was told about being used at the time of ordering. Had I been told that dairy free products would be used I would have ordered from somewhere else. Alan says that I should have complained before leaving his shop, but how could I comment about how the cake tasted? I was too embarrassed to say anything about the appearance because his wife & children were within earshot and I didn’t want to cause him any embarrassment. I did however send him a message when I got home because 2 of the birds on the cake were missing wings and he did kindly come to my house to add these wings. Alan is refusing to give me a refund, full or partial and hasn’t offered any kind of recompense. I am appalled in his lack of compassion & customer service. He has refused to address the issue of using dairy free products. He obviously has no pride in his work and doesn’t seem to care about his reputation. I would love to be able to share...

I went in yesterday and asked for a cheese burger with onions and relish and a cheesy curry chip when I got home with my meal I was disgusted at the quality of the food ... firstly I was meet with the smell of pure burnt meat the burger was almost cremated and had no cheese or relish only onions total in eatable the cheese curry chip also had no cheese and the chips were terrible they were like biting into grease I tried to call the cafe all day yesterday to address the issue but could not get through and also this morning with no luck ... the girl who served me was also very rude and not very friendly .... I would strongly suggest that if u go into town to order food and u actually plan on eating it the stay away from haughs kitchen or u will be going home...

We went here today for the first time we had 2 breakfasts they were great, poached eggs were done exactly the way I asked for them perfect, a lovely breakfast apart from the soda bread was under done, not brown enough for us, will no to say again, beans could have been warmer but still a lovely breakfast, my son ordered a panini he said it was first class and he would definitely eat it again and he can be quite fussy, so thanks, a great choice of food and it's very reasonably priced not like...
