KFC — Restaurant in North Devon

In a nutshell: AVOID...Luke warm to cold chicken, bad attitude from some staff...make you feel very unwelcome...like you're wasting their time.

I first purchased a drive through here about a year ago, sat in a que for nearly 20 mins...no idea why...worst example of fast food ever and to top it off they weren't even busy...half empty inside!

I've bought from here a few times recently...the box meal was not in a box...so I wasn't sure I had everything and was confused, the burger was luke warm and had a floppy cold burger bun, the chicken in a feast meal was also almost cold and I felt ill within a few hours...really ill at work the next day.

The most recent visit (one last try) a female member of staff was walking around clearly pee'd off with another member of staff and started saying 'for f*%ks sake' under her breath while shouting at him to go away and do something else, then started slamming the till about so hard that change flew out. She slapped my change back in my hand then literally slammed the bag of food down on the counter near me. So rude! She was clearly trying to make a point that I had somehow wasted here precious time! No idea why she was off with me...I was really polite!

The place wasn't busy, only about 8 other customers in there eating with about 6 behind me in the que who were all laughing...it really was a joke.

This store clearly needs training for several members of staff. Cold KFC by the time you get in the car with the bag...that's pretty poor. And giving customers a hard time because they politely placed an order...what do they expect to happen in a fast food place? I'm not sure they understand the...

No stars (but to be able to post my comments I had to rate as 1 to 5) I wanted to let you know I had absolutely awful service and food tonight. I pulled into the 'drive through' with my daughter who is school age (Friday 5th July, around 6.30pm) and was told by the lady who was taking the orders that they were busy so there was going to be a short wait. After waiting for over 5 mins my daughter jokingly said 'hello'. The lady who was serving then immediately came on the speaker and said quite angrily that she had already said they were busy. I then appologized to her for my daughter saying 'hello'. After about a further 10 minutes there was quite a large queue of cars at this point, and I think we were deliberately left waiting as 'punishment' for my daughters comment, our order for a 14 piece bucket was finally taken. I picked it up and paid the seventeen pounds (so not cheap), and everything was cordial. However when I got home I found that of all the 14 pieces of chicken, there was not one breast piece, they were all either thighs or legs, and never in the last 10 years of buying 10 or 14 piece buckets have I ever experienced this, so again I can only conclude that we were being punished. So in conclusion I am not at all happy with my experience and am not planning on using this KFC ever again. I am actually not usually the complaining type, but after receiving your invitation on my phone to rate my experience, I thought I should be honest and let you know how it was...

When its good its good. Ive been quite a few times now as I usually take the children swimming in barnstaple and we go through the drive through on the way home for food. Id say that about 50% of these times over the past few months the drive through has been closed due to being short on staff. On a couple of these occassions the food also took a little longer and seemed dry, as if it had been kept sitting around for a too long. I was injured a couple of months back and so having to go into the restaurant to order was difficult and a little frustrating. This was redeemed by amazing service when noticing my crutches a staff member came out and helped me carry everything back the car. These things matter and show they are trying despite staffing issues. The other 50% of the time the food has been great. I know all KFCs are meant to be the same but Ive found that tje quality of the food does differ between restaurants as does the service. I can only imagine the staff situation will improve and then so will the consistency of the food quality. So for now Ill reserve the last star for when I see this improve. Overall I would recommend, great service, just a few...
