The Castle Inn, Pub and Beer Garden — Restaurant in North Devon

The Castle is an absolute gem of a pub. Very traditional, you will always receive a warm welcome from staff and the local customers. Dave and Sharon are incredible and extremely friendly hosts, always on hand with a warm smile. The drink selection never disappoints, and is always well stocked with many tastes catered for. Dave is a real ale fan and there is always a good selection of well considered guest ales available, as well as the house regular Doom Bar which also never disappoints. A lovely sun trap rear garden offers a peaceful oasis to sit and enjoy a drink, overlooked by the village church opposite. Live music is available on occasion with many fantastic local bands to entertain, bringing a fun and enjoyable evening for all, well worth following the Castle on social media where you will find details of future events. The best pub in Combe Martin with an amazing sense of community and very welcoming, whether you are a local or a visitor. Very family friendly too. Your hosts Dave and Sharon will always look after you and many visitors have commented how welcome they were made to feel by the locals. Be warned though! You may well find yourself roped into the friendly Monday darts night, the Thursday quiz night, boogieing away to the regular live music or engaged in friendly conversations in the traditional bar or outside in the large beer garden with its fantastic views! Loved this pub. Pretty little rear beer garden that backs onto a lively little River walk. The choice of drinks was great and the bar itself was very pleasant and had a real quaint feel of a traditional pub. For the sports fan it's ideal with 2 large screens. They were extremely accomodating for me. Setting up the TV especially so that I could watch the National League playoffs . My team sadly lost but can't really blame Pub team for that!!
