If we could have given 6 instead of 5 we would, we had our wedding at Redcoats this September 24 and it was the best experience.||From the moment we booked our wedding until we waved them goodbye on the Sunday afternoon they have been outstanding.||Support - everyone here is a delight, is passionate and wants only the best for you, every time we have popped in a few times for dinner and coffee and just to have a nose since booking our wedding they have been welcoming, friendly, and excited to hear about any ideas we had, although it may have been one to many visits, when we hear comments like, everyone here knows you, heidi and Jon 🤣🤣🤣||Venue - there aren’t enough words to describe, but if I could it would be perfectly rustic, beautifully presented, lovingly looked after, the perfect place for a wedding 👰🏻🤵🏻🥂🍾||Food and accommodation - out of this world, guests are still talking about the quality of the rooms, the friendly staff, the venue. Don’t get them talking about the food, they can’t stop talking about the beef and the goats cheese filo pastry, out of this world!!!!! in fact I am a little concerned that some guests may start stalking the chef 😜|||Staff - I still don’t have the words enough to describe the staff that work here, from the farmhouse, the bar staff, the waiters and waitresses they are just wonderful, they care that you are happy, they care that people feel comfortable and looked after, they are truly outstanding. ||The wedding support was completely out of this world, no matter who answered my questions it was done with care, consideration and support.||And then there is Megan, our wedding planner, only 3 months in the job, Megan you were like part of our family, getting excited about our plans, thinking of ways things could be made better, coping with our family needs lol and making the whole day, from the Friday and through to the very end the most wonderful experience, I cannot put into words what it was like to work with you, but I can say how it felt, a complete and utter delight…when can we do it again??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh and mum wants to adopt you 🙄🙄🤣🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️||To all at Redcoats, you amazing, wonderful people, please accept our thanks at making our day the only day we could have hoped for...
Read moreStayed here due to work, and really enjoyed my stay. My room was really comfortable and nice and quiet. The room was decorated in a contemporary fashion, and the bathroom was modern, clean, with a lovely walk in shower which had nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles for use. There were a couple of hand towels, and 2 bath towels that were large sized, which I appreciated! The towels were clean and fluffy, making them nice to use. The rooms air-conditioning worked really well. I get quite hot, and found the room really comfortable and cool which I appreciated. The tea and coffee facilities in the room were up market products, and it was a nice touch having the Border biscuits! I didn't find the bed the most comfortable, but that's due to it being soft and I'm used to a hard mattress. I'm sure most would find it very comfortable. Dinner was fantastic. The food was amazing, so full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I had the broccoli veloute and then the fish of the day, which I believe was stone bass. It was all so delicious. There were 8 staff on, all were so friendly and attentive. Having 8 meant I was never waiting long between courses or for ordering food or extra drinks. Really appreciate how well they look after the room. The drinks were a little on the pricey side, but it's a hotel and very posh restaurant, so understandable. I had a hendrix and tonic and did appreciate the way they served the cucumber garnish in the drink. I felt it enhanced the flavour of the gin, and will be how I serve my gin at home from now on! The breakfast the next day was also delicious. I had poached eggs on avocado toast, it was cooked really well and so full of flavour. Again the staff were really friendly and attentive. Overall I had a fantastic time here, and hope to stay here again in the future, hopefully with my wife next time as I know she would...
Read moreMy partner & I recently got married at Redcoats.
We were in the early stages of venue planning over a year ago & randomly came across an open day there which just happened to be the following day. We went along with no real expectations & within a couple of minutes of being there we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding.
Charlie Brimelow was our wedding coordinator & she was absolutely phenomenal every step of the way. Emails & queries were answered promptly & concisely & we were never made to feel like we were being a nuisance (although we most likely were at certain points!). She clearly works incredibly hard & is a credit to her profession.
The day itself was a dream & we can't thank Charlie, the events team & actually every member of staff who works there enough. The way we imagined our day was exactly how it turned out & it takes a real team effort for a 12 hour day to go exactly as planned.
The venue is amazing, the barn/bar/garden area were exactly what we were looking for, spacious enough for everyone but not so big that it feels like people are detached from one another. Our guests were so impressed with the venue, they loved the food (from the canapes to the wedding breakfast to the evening buffet - it was all delicious!). We had many guests tell us how grateful they were with the staff who were so helpful and ensured all their allergy/dietary questions/requirements were met. Staying at the venue on the night of the wedding was great too - the fact that they reserve all of the rooms for you once you confirm a date is another huge plus as you basically know that any guest who would like to stay overnight can do so.
Thank you so much Charlie & the rest of the Redcoats team, we'll be back next year for our anniversary meal in the restaurant!
