Coffee Haven — Restaurant in Stevenage

Very poor visit. Hair in the bread of my sausage sandwich. Returned and was told a fresh one would be prepared. A Fresh one arrived in under a minute. Amazing magic trick. When questioned, I was argued with so I asked for a refund. The colleague cooking/preparing food berated and raised her voice to a poor colleague trying to help me aggressively stating WAIT. I asked for a complete refund and was challenged again and when I questioned the hygiene practices food left on the side not chilled or hot held, food being probed by the same colleague using their unwashed hand to temp check, them carry on preparing food without hand washing. I was glibly told, "We have a 5, hygiene rating." Well done, that was awarded in 2023, 2 years ago, so what does that mean or prove. Awful display of customer service and the other servers where clearly shocked at her behavior one even stating "I, well I won't say anything, leave it at that." All apparently used to her abusive and forceful nature. Poor show. Expensive...

Quickly called in for lunch today, as had to go to Stevenage. Bad choice, we both had loaded chicken flat bread, mine with chicken pesto mayo and salad and my wife’s with chicken tikka and mint mayo and salad. The flat bread was obviously out of a packet and fairly dry and cold. My chicken was obviously again not home cooked and a bit slimy and tasteless,I couldn’t really taste the pesto. I didn’t taste my wife’s which looked better than mine but her comment was “ don’t think we’ll be eating here again” Definitely not worth the £9 plus price tag. Friendly helpful staff, food arrived quickly, was hot, tasty, well presented and good value for money.
