We had quite a nice visit here last Friday on our way back home from Skegness. I visited with my mum and 1 year old daughter. My daughter really enjoy going to see the guinea pigs, rabbits, goats and birds, although unfortunately we werenât able to get to see the cows. There perhaps wasnât as many animals as we expected when visiting, but this didnât matter too much. My daughter enjoyed playing in on the play park, too. The ice-cream is quite nice and reasonably priced. However, what I feel let the place down was the seating area outside the cafe. We bought a picnic to have before we bought an ice-cream, however we struggled to find somewhere to sit - all the picnic benches were empty and I am no surprised, they were all made of metal so were red hot as the sun had been shining directly on them all day. It was clear that nobody was using the tables as they were too hot - surely the tables should all have a parasol in the centre so people can sit and eat in a shaded area on hot days - especially considering ice cream melts pretty quickly in the heat! I also felt disabled parking was poor as there were only two spaces which were occupied upon arrival. Only daughter did enjoy the animals which was lovely but I am not sure I would visit again; I might look for somewhere else with a little more to offer...
Read moreIt's a lovely local place to visit, which is easy to find and has plenty of parking. We've been fairly regularly, and the ice cream being the main star of the show, and also has a drive through. We went early March and looks like it's been overhauled and the outside kids area is much improved. All of its brand new (love that the old tractor is still unchanged) with a spongy coloured bark surface over the whole play area, it's great. The animals are still there and they're homes are much improved with much more room and the viewing areas make it easier to see them all. The animal feed dispenser wasnt there so not sure if you can feed the animals anymore or they are waiting to put it back in. I did ask but but the staff member didnt know. There's also a crazy golf course. The kids diggers were all out of order which was a shame. The bouncy castle and kart track was shut but I think it's seasonal. The goats are very friendly and seem to enjoy getting up close to visitors. The day we went was particularly busy and there was a fair wait at the desk to try and order food and drinks. The menu is fairly small but has the usual kind of items - jacket spuds, bacon baps, sausage rolls, scones, etc so you can easily find something on the menu to fill a gap. Well worth a visit...
Read moreA fantastic place to visit any time of the year, although summer and ice cream go hand in hand. They recently modified the way cars enter and exit the facility and it has made it safer for children. They have a nice little play area and a few small animals to the front, my daughter enjoyed feeding grass to the guinea pigs. There are also some ride on toys for the little ones. There is a crazy golf course at the rear of the building, which we have yet to try. They also have a set up for some kind of go karts and sometimes have a bouncy castle in the summer. You can get ice cream inside or stay in your car and go through the drive through. They have a great selection of flavours on the drive through and change them regularly. You can be waiting a little while at the height of summer or on some weekends, but it is worth it. If you want more choice then head inside to the cafe and you will not be dissapointed, there are so many flavours of ice cream you may have trouble deciding. They also serve cakes, food, tea/coffee and soft drinks. There is seating inside and out. Prices are very reasonable and staff are friendly and polite. A firm favourite with many...
