We arrived just after 3pm and were disappointed to see that the cafe had already shut (it is advertised as being open until 3.30) as we had really fancied some cake. We actually heard somebody round the side of the building and it turned out to be Sylv (who was cleaning the friers and apologised for her cleaning attire, no need Sylv!) and she insisted on re-opening just for us and switching on all the machines again. We had the Dime bar cake, the chocolate gateau and the lemon cheesecake and we each thought that they were the yummiest cake in town - each was served with a little pot of pouring cream. The tea and coffee were also very good - the coffee was served with one of those yummy little biscuits. Sylv was absolutely lovely and was very sweet with our young children. What had looked to be a disappointing afternoon turned out to be absolutely wonderful and we were very grateful to Sylv for being so accommodating. We will definitely be back (to try the strawberry eton mess cake) and would recommend this lovely...

The young man serving me was lovely and took me through the cake selection. I settled on the Victoria sponge and an americano. The Victoria sponge was just the ticket and was genuinely perfect.
