Wow! What a find! Myself and a friend were looking for somewhere to get food for about 4pm, this was the only place locally still serving (that we could find in internet searches) on this cloudy Sunday afternoon! We were super delighted with the food. Atmosphere; staff came across a little abrupt towards us when we walked in and asked for a table, hence the slight downfall on this rating section. The food was incredible, the beef was delicious - tender, melt in the mouth, the mash was a hidden gem, Yorkshire puddings and vegetables were perfect 🥰 generous portions, attentive table waiting and check backs, dessert was incredible 😋 Would highly recommend this amazing place - great decor and presentation too. We will be back ;)

Only popped in for a coke as we had already ordered food from the Tandoori next door, but had to wait. On stepping into the pub, there were comfy sofas, a roaring log burner, a friendly atmosphere and what looked to be an excellent menu (which we would've tried had we not already ordered). We will be back to enjoy a meal in due course.

There has obviously been a lot of money spent on the refurbishment, and it shows. Really nice place to be. We went for lunch, not busy at all, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean in the restaurant as was the washroom. I had scallops to start (£10.95) 3 scallops with black pudding and cauliflower "sauce". A little expensive as they weren't that big. My partner had Haddock, mushy peas and rustic chips. Really large!!!. Fish was hot, fresh and tasty. I had the lasagne, with salad and chips. Again the portion was large. Chips were crispy outside and fluffy inside. I would have preferred a little more pasta in the dish. Really tasty though. Brought half of it home in a container they supplied. Just as nice the following day. Would definately recommend this restaurant and we'll...

The waiting staff were very friendly and service was good. The starters were very good and tasty. From the starters we were expecting good things from the mains, but we were very disappointed. The food was dry and claggy and extremely over seasoned with salt. One of us had a burger and the meat was fairly dry and the other had the pie special, the pie was the worst item and I struggle to describe it, as it had no sauce/gravy in it and it seemed like it had had a jelly agent added to it

Time will tell if we give this place another try, based on the location and waiting staff we will probably give it another go, but based on our experience of the food more than likely not as that's what you go for and that's what costs your hard...
