i can’t believe i am having to write such a bad review on my grandson phone that’s how shocking this cafe is. can i just say the cafe is absolutely an absolute state it is boring and dull and colourless,,, me and my mate went in there for a breakfast compared to sugar and spice it is stupid,, for what i would pay for a large english breakfast when it used to be sugar and spice was now only enough for a small breakfast. now let’s get started on the food, i’ve never had such a greasy sausage in my life i don’t know what you cook your food in but you need to get it checked, next was the beans and they were as runny as water, also the bacon was 3/4 fat 1/4 bacon. Also the staff are rude and that’s just the bottom line, i think you need to train them or something because they don’t know how to be welcoming and nice especially the lady with the short black hair, she was VERY in my face and unwelcoming made me want to walk away no “welcome to wattsons” or “ hey are u okay take a seat “ no she was just rude and ignorant and didn’t say a word thankfully tho there is these two young lady’s who are always on the ball and know what they’re doing and they made me feel very welcome unlike the woman with the black and the chief.
If u can’t welcome your customers with open arms ( not actually) then how do you expect to deal with the holiday makers during summer if you can’t welcome people during the quite winter, If there experience is the same as mine then you will be getting a load more bad reviews and it’s a shame i had to say all that because i’m local and used to take my grandchildren into the cafe when it was run by ian and Clare but now i will be taking them some place else, it’s a shame because this is...
Read moreRude and poor customer service! Not family friendly! We popped into Watson’s yesterday at 14.40 (closing time 3pm and the open sign clearing visible out front). We were out exploring Bacton with our 5 month old baby and had got caught in a heavy and unexpected summer shower. There were three tables still mid meal, eating and drinking with several customers still inside the cafe. We were told it was takeaway only as they were due to close (in 20 minutes). As the rain was still heavy and our young baby was in a carrier we asked if we could drink a coffee from a takeaway cup standing inside the door to shelter the baby. We were angrily (shouted from the kitchen) told we could purchase a coffee but definitely couldn’t stay inside and had to stand outside the heavy rain. We ended up trying to keep our baby dry under the cover the cafe doorstep whilst the staff and other customers watched us and our baby getting soaked from inside. One kind customer was so embarrassed they came out and offered us an umbrella from their car. Honestly I’ve never experienced such an inhospitable and unfriendly establishment and I can’t ever imagine what kind of proprietor would behave in such an unwelcoming manner. Avoid avoid avoid!
We walked to the Poachers Pocket, dried out and had a lovely coffee there. The next day we visited Carmel cafe down the road, the food was fantastic and service friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our faith in Norfolk...
Read moreI was informed that they fully cater for gluten free and informed by the waitress that practically everything was gluten free. We questioned the way they use the fryers and how the toast is toasted, to be informed they use the same toaster (major cross contamination of allergens there) so they offered to grill it instead. Also told by the chef themselves that the black pudding was gluten free, questioned the ingredients, he informed that it was oats, informed the chef it needed to be gluten free oats to be gluten free, these never made it on our plate so I guess these weren't actually gluten free. So it's worrying that the waitress and the chefs do not fully understand allergens and the importance of not cross contaminating food when there's allergens involved, as it can take several months for one to recover from a glutened episode.
Would I recommend to a fellow gluten free, most...
