Greggs — Restaurant in North Tyneside

If I could give no stars I would! Some female members of staff at this shop are lacking decent customer service and communication skills. They are incredibly ill-mannered and at times very unpolite and come across as quite abrupt. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, as people sometimes do have bad days, however I've visited this shop on different occasions and unfortunately I find their customer service is lacking. Many of them appear miserable and can not hold a smile while serving customers - at times displaying what can only be described as a "can't be bothered" attitude. Not only do they treat customer like this, I have witnessed them being quite rude to their delivery drivers as well. Isn't it meant to be team work? Politeness, good manners and decent customer service skills costs nothing! As I find the atmosphere in this place very unpleasant, I can safely say that I won't be visiting this store again and will tell all of my friends and family not to use this shop.

However, I would like to take this opportunity to praise Greggs at The Forum shopping centre in Wallsend high street as they are miles better. They have lovely, professional, welcoming and friendly staff there. I went in on Saturday Afternoon for some food and drinks, it was the first time that I’ve had poor service at Gregg’s. The woman serving seemed like she just didn’t like me, or maybe it was because I’m a person of colour. She was very blunt and it was as if she didn’t want to serve me, yet the next person in line she welcomes by saying ‘Hi darling, can I help you’.

The woman that served me just did not have any manners or respect. When I asked her if I had been given cheese & onion pastries she just replied and said ‘I don’t know, he got them’ whilst pointing to another member of staff. In this scenario, the least you could do is just confirm with him and reassure me they’re cheese & onion ones. Honestly really poor service, won’t be back...

Staff are lovely always very nice. I'm disabled and they always offer to take my bacon bun and drink to the table for me even if they're busy. I usually meet my daughter there when we go out for the day. I don't go out much as I don't like crowds or being out alone now but I'm happy to go there for an hour till my daughter comes to get me. They sell the full range of Gregg's goods but they just show that bit more caring to their customers and I've rarely seen anyone leave the shop without a smile on their faces.
