Open belching and non-hand-covered coughing. Profuse sweating from the server who wasn't wearing gloves. A whiff of bodily odour all around. I hate to be so harsh on such an earnest down to earth place but it made us yearn for the chain pub! In short, don't believe the hype about this place like we did when reading many of the 5-star reviews. Someone burped very loudly and rather than apologise or feint embarrassment just went on to loudly exclaim how everyone does it and the age old, "better out than in". Or the person who after being told that there was no more turkey, said that they were not picky and would have the scraps!

Long queues, and slow service aside (there was only ever one server and when someone had brought their own plate from home for a takeaway , the single server would wrap their plate in tin foil and then cling film whilst the queue just watched on), the food was poor too. For a carvery, the roast potatoes were limited and when someone brought out a "fresh" batch of stuffing, it looked like leftover scraps. And then there was chicken lying in the broccoli tray....

First and last time yesterday ordering from this place! It was only 2 dinners and one piece of cake for my daughter and they couldn't even get that right. When I placed the order they rang me to say it'll be well over an hour due to traffic which was absolutely fine its out of their control. When the dinners arrived they were a mass of mess, items just piled on top of each other and the gravy had spilt all over and no cake! I rang them they said they'd contact the driver she must of give it to someone else. She said she'd ring me back but didn't. I rang again and was made to feel I was disturbing them. She said the cake was left in the car and would send it when they can. By the time it arrived the driver may as well of threw it at me! No apology just shoved in my hand with a filthy look and walked away! This was their fault not mine! Appalling customer service, behaviour and over all service. Very disappointed and won't be...

Hmm never been to a place like this before, I was passing on a venture out and fancied a drink, upon entry I was met with the beautiful smell off Sunday lunch, the place looked dated and there was stuff lying around as if it was being decked out for something, in the corner there was a couple of a varied age range sitting having with what appeared to be afternoon tea? Looked weird and so out of theme with where I was standing in. None else was inside...the worker appeared from the kitchen i got a drink and sat outside, ive been to many places worldwide and felt weird as if I had stepped into the Bates motel and felt I was being watched having my drink outside. I quickly drank and took my empty glass inside and made a hasty exit the couple sitting inside also looked weird I'm still not sure if this was a real place or I was dreaming I need to really go back and take it all in again, weird...
