Read moreHorrible experience, I went to this place to be sociable for my brothers birthday, as I dont eat curry, therefore I had 3 poppadoms and a portion of chips( about 10 chips) and 2 drinks. We ordered an extra pickle tray with this being my main meal, when it arrived I had to ask several times for salt and vinegar for my very bland chips, first just the vinegar arrived then 2 mins later the salt! Very poor service, staff running around like headless chickens. At the end the small guy (the owner I think) presented a bottle of wine to my brither for his birthday, little did we know he was to add this to the bill. When the bill arrived the small cocky guy snatched the cash out my brothers and my boyfriends hand and said it'll be £40 a head, I said mine isn't as I've not had a main meal, so I attempted several times to ask how much each item was so we could work it out fairly, the bill was scribbled down so we couldn't read what he was charging but he snatched the bill away once he got his money, very rude and it annoyed me a lot, he then had the nerve to think hugging and shaking our hands was appropriate on our way out, I was fuming, will never touch this place again, dearest chips I've ever had, ill go to the chippy up the road instead next time, at least ill get a decent meal, seems they don't appreciate card payments??? Mmm I'll leave you to ponder why but quite obvious to me why they insist on cash.... I am not sure how they have scored the reviews they have when they clearly are just out to rip...
Read moreVERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNETHICAL PRACTISES.
I recently had an appalling experience at Gandhi Restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my concerns with fellow diners. Despite enjoying the meal, the overall experience was marred by a significant issue: the refusal to provide an invoice or receipt.
When I asked for an invoice for the amount paid, I was met with audacious and dismissive attitudes from the staff. They flat-out declined my request, stating that they do not issue receipts or invoices to customers and that it is their standard operating procedure from years. This not only seems highly unprofessional but also raises suspicions of possible tax evasion practices. It's unsettling to think that a business could be operating in such a shady manner.
I even showed them receipts from a restaurant just few steps away where I dined previous evening but they kept claiming it is no their practice.
Moreover, the staff made it clear that customers are not welcome to question this policy, and if we didn't like it, we were not welcome at the restaurant. This blatant disregard for customer service and transparency is unacceptable.
I urge potential diners to think twice before supporting a business that operates with such a lack of integrity. Customer rights and transparent business practices are crucial, and Gandhi Restaurant falls woefully short on both counts. Save your money and dine somewhere that respects its patrons and abides by proper legal and...
