Orissa — Restaurant in North West Leicestershire

Four of us went to this establishment on Saturday 27th January and as always the food was very good, however when we tried to settle the bill using Orissa gift vouchers as part payment we we're told that they could only accept one voucher and the others would have to be used at another time. We said this can't be right as you have already received payment for the vouchers so are in fact like cash. They weren't interested in our point but we stood firm and in the end they very reluctantly accepted the vouchers. This is the second time we have experienced a issue with their vouchers as before we were told that they are unable to reimburse any amount from a part used voucher we didn't spend. From the moment we first arrived to the moment we left, this was a first class dining experience. The staff were polite, friendly and professional - nothing was too much trouble for them. A special mention to Reg who was our main waiter for the evening. Now to the food. What can I say , it is probably the best Indian cuisine I have tasted. Delicate , yet full of flavour. The menu has been well thought out , a great selection of dishes varying from the chefs own signature dishes to old school classics. Just had the most amazing meal at Orissa. We were fortunate enough to get in without a booking and what a brilliant experience we had. The staff are fantastic very sincere and make you feel like they wanted you personally to turn up if that makes sense. Then the food, wow, just fantastic along with the service. Donnington really is the Indian capital of the East Midlands with 4 excellent well established Indian restraunts. No disrespect to the other 3 but for me Orrisa just has the edge.
