The owner of this cafe needs to do something with the staff because he is losing a lot. The location of the cafe is just great and amazingly beautiful, that is why we will come again. But everything else is bad: the staff deceives guests and spoils the impression of the cafe, there is no service and they do not even have any idea about it. We called the day before the visit to book a table with a lake view and an umbrella from the sun, like we saw in the photo of this cafe on their website and what the girl told us - we do not book tables on the terrace and we do not have umbrellas from the sun, and also we can only book a table inside the premises. But! When we arrived, the first thing I saw was a reserved table on the terrace with a beautiful view of the lake for other people, the second was our table on the side of the cafe, not inside and not on the terrace, but near the entrance to the cafe without a view of the lake (there was a feeling that we were second-class people for them and our place near the front door was like for dogs near a store). Then we got the Sunday lunch menu and it ABSOLUTELY did not match the menu shown on the cafe website, I wanted to order baked Camembert and assorted fish and shrimp, but it was not on the menu, then I asked for a fish dish from the current menu, to which the waitress replied, there is no fish.... Having chosen a fried pork leg, I received boiled pork with salt and complete disappointment from the kitchen, the only good thing was ice cream, but the chef did not cook it, so it is not his merit. As for the service, the waiter did not clear the dirty table after other customers, wasps sat on the remains of food on the table the whole lunch. When they brought us food, we had to look for cutlery ourselves twice at the service table and our hot dishes got cold because there were no forks, only knives. On top of that, waiters carry glasses holding the edge of the glass with dirty fingers where they touch the customers' lips, and it's not just our drinks that were brought, but other guests too, so if someone gets diarrhea later, it will be surprising. Please buy them a book or video lessons on how to serve guests in a...

Went for breakfast yesterday with my sister and brother in law. We all a very nice full English. It was when we saw the next table have the Latte of the week gingerbread Latte that we thought we'd have one! My sister had the Luxury hot chocolate. What a massive disappointment. Everyone just had a watered down hot milk!! Because my sister has been seriously ill it was a nice treat for her, I didn't want to complain Infront of her. But to be honest nobody finished them. I did notice they were doing something to the coffee machine as we were walking out, but really if that was the case, you'd think they could have apologized and we could have waited.

This is an appalling answer to your reply.. I was paying when you were all sorting out the coffee machine! At that point. You should have apologized. Not assuming it's our responsibility...

We had a fabulous meal at Lakeside Bistro. The setting is beautiful and before the meal we had a lovely walk around the lake looking at the ducks, including a gorgeous crop of ducklings. The meal itself was outstanding. We are vegetarians and the separate vegetarian and vegan menus as well as gluten and dairy free gave us if anything too much choice which makes a very pleasant change. The food was amazing, the home made vegan cottage pie was absolutely outstanding, one of the nicest meals I’ve had, our non-veggie friend had it too and raved about it. There was a similar selection of desserts, ‘normal’, veggie, vegan and gluten/dairy free. All home made and again excellent. As a bonus, service is excellent and priced very reasonable. We intend to return and work our way...

Beautiful Lakeside location with tea rooms and ouside patio and deck serving tea, coffee, beers, wine, cakes, sandwiches and baguettes. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Having not tried any of the homemade cakes, I can only comment of the imagineless plate I ordered off the hot sandwiches part if the menu - the fried fish goujon. I was not particularly impressed with the standard. Thr accompanying chips felt, tasted and looked shop bought re'heated in an oven. Lonely green leaves, peper and tomatoes doused in balsamic vinegar made a sad version of salad. Personally, more imagination and creative cooking techniques could be achieved quite easily at the Lakeside Bistro for presentation and quality of their food.

Bit disappointed overall starter's where great but mostly deep fried at least the ones I choose but between the server not knowing the food or drink menu at all (she did say she was new ) when ordering and the driest inedible belly pork I've ever had and un cooked bubble and squeak really let the place down .And I at 37 was the probably one of the youngest guest in the room any poor dear wouldn't get their teeth into this dish or if they did they would never get them out again
