A very nice location for a cafe with a lovely view of what was once a massive furnace. The cafe itself is quite small and doesn’t seat that many. There are 3 or 4 tables outside on a small courtyard/walkway and 4 or 5 tables on a covered area adjacent to the cafe. The staff were friendly and talkative and the coffee was what you would expect for a cappuccino. The prices are comparable to that of a coffee chain (costa etc) so not cheap. There is visitor parking but there’s also parking for tenants. These parking bays are covered by CCTV so be mindful if you’re hoping to park close to the cafe. The parking and access to the cafe are also wheelchair friendly.

Having enjoyed many a good cuppa and piece of cake at this cafe many times before I was surprised last week when I entered the cafe carrying the empty dog water bowl so that it could be refilled for my dogs to have a drink too. Before I even got to the counter of the otherwise empty cafe, I was told "I cant take THAT (Pointed finger at bowl) into the kitchen. You can get water from the toilet.

I took the bowl to the toilet to discover that the water in the toilet was labelled 'not fit for drinking'.

So I left without my cup of tea and piece of cake to get my dogs a drink of water from the car.

In 50 years of dog ownership I have never ever heard before of any cafe, pub, or eatery who supply a dog bowl, not be willing to put water in that dog bowl.

I was waiting meeting friends at the cafe so this cafe lost the business of 4 people on that day, not one.

Needless to say I will not be returning to...

The café needs more staff, especially when there is an event on at Moira. The young lady serving was having to take orders as well as work the till and make hot drinks. The service is slow at times because of this. If someone is waiting to just buy a drink out of the fridge or an item out of the freezer, then it's wrong to have them wait for someone's coffees to be made. The staff were working incredibly hard and seemed to be snowed under. It's a shame because this could put people off.

The food was nice, I recommend the bacon sandwich. There is also seating outside, but it does get busy, so you have to time it right to...
