Would have very comfortably been 4* due to the good, friendly service and selection of Lebanese food however had to deduct a star for two very important issues whilst there:

Serving my vegetarian girlfriend lamb.. (though to be honest at this stage everything else had been good and therefore we sort of went with it)

Double charging for a (£7) starter. When we challenged this (it came to the best part of £40 for two starters and a main to share) we were told that - without asking or being advised during service, ordering or check bank - we had been given 'double' (including the lamb, as mentioned above) and therefore had been charged twice. The chef at the bar also confirmed this quite rudely. It would've been nice to at least have an apology but really we felt a bit let down with just "unfortunately you had 1 extra of each and so we charged you for two" at time of payment. Ironically (and understandably) we only ate 4 of the 6 small mezze-style pieces comprised within the 'double' portion.

At the end of the day we were trialling the pub as we've moved in just up the road (and wanted to treat ourselves to celebrate) but were a bit let down. Ultimately these two things were deal-breakers for us, despite the otherwise good service and food. Ah well.. unfortunately we won't be heading back and will need to find ourselves a...

Visited here on a Friday night, ordered Gammon steak and was perfectly cooked and came with all the trimmings. Staff very friendly and organized. Phoned the following day to book a table and was informed that the restaurant was full but could accommodate us in "the snug" which we accepted. We arrived on time and ordered our meal. A family walked in without booking a table and sat in the same room. They ordered their food. A young lad came to our table and informed us that there had been a problem with our order process and there would be a delay. In the meantime the family had eaten their food and gone. We ate our meal which we enjoyed and went to pay the bill (this was 1 hour 45ins later) where we had to wait again so I walked around the restaurant and there was a table of 3 and another table of 7, the rest of the restaurant was empty. There was no apology and I said maybe they could have deducted the 1 bottle of cider that was ordered as a "gesture of good will" but that comment was ignored. Maybe don't visit on a Saturday evening if we...

Five of ate here last Saturday evening and it was first class. We were greeted the moment we entered and all the staff, over the course of the evening, were polite, attentive and competent - hooray! The food was excellent. 3 of us had steaks (2 sirloin and 1 T Bone) and the others had Gammon and the Beetroot Burger respectively. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food and individual requirements were catered for too. The fellas, with one exception, were drinking Pedigree and it being a Marsden’s pub, it was perfection. So much so that I managed three over the meal! The kitchen stops at 9pm but they were happy to rustle up deserts after this time, as we’d had a hard day racing at the circuit and didn’t get there til gone 8pm. So can it get any better? Well yes it can. The pricing was very reasonable. Very. An eight ounce sirloin steak, with well cooked fries and onion rings for just a tenner? If I lived more locally I’d be there every week. Can’t recommend the pub highly enough; great people, great food, great beer...

Rating:★★★★★ We had our first big family lunchtime at The Nags Head Pub in Donington Leics, marking our fourth visit, and it was exceptional as always. The steaks are excellent, and the vegan options are amazing – the menu has something for everyone. The indoor and outdoor ambiance is fabulous, making it a great place to dine no matter the weather. The customer service from Sharon and Carol was first-class, and Cindy, the Head Chef and Landlady, is extraordinary. Her cooking and presentation are top-notch, and her genuine passion for her food makes every meal special. We travel 25 miles to eat here because it’s truly worth it. A special shout-out to Mika, who works most evenings. She’s excellent – witty, professional, and always provides great service. Thank you for making our family lunch a fantastic experience. We look forward to many more visits! Rory & Debbie and family

This bar & bistro is rum by my son Lee and daughter in law Cindy. I live in Swakopmund Namibia and came to visit for 3 weeks. As a family, we left UK in 1974 for Africa. Lee, Cindy and my grandchildren moved back to UK a couple of years back. I am imensly proud and happy that they are doing very well in their enterprise. The Nags Head is a great place with friendly staff whom I got to know and appreciate during my stay. Lee & Cindy are great hosts and reading the reviews, are much appreciated by the patrons. I may be slightly biased but would recommend a visit anytime. I'll be back in a couple of years and am sure it will belch more of the same. Big Thanks to Lee, Cindy and all the family for making my stay so enjoyable. Love to All. Ken.

We arrived around 1230 on a Saturday having walked from a local village. Although we were the only customers the greeting was super friendly and the service was brilliant. The food was delicious, especially the home made soup. Definitely going back, and this will become the new half way point. Having visited other pubs in Castle Donington this is one of the best by far. Dog friendly in the bar and outside Great food Great welcome Worth a visit
