Stumbled across this 17th century gem quite by chance whilst out for a drive. Initially only wanted a quick drink but ended up staying and buying dinner. The staff were lovely, really friendly and welcoming. The food was homemade, very tasty, piping hot and a good size. The icing on the cake was the atmosphere, I'm guessing most in there were locals, but from the moment we entered everyone was so friendly and happy. Well recommended Oh and it's dog friendly too 😃

Very friendly and welcoming local pub. Dogs welcome too. The Seafood Platter was awesome, it would have fed a small village,

We both ordered starters, loaded nachos and halloumi fries. The cheese on the nachos tasted cheap and rubbery. The halloumi fries didn't fare better, tasted more like mozzarella. All in all the starters were a bit uninspiring. The mains, I ordered beef bourguignon, the meat was tender and the mash was tasty. Vegetables cooked nicely. I enjoyed it (4) My partner had beef enchiladas. The enchiladas didn't have much tomato sauce as you'd typically expect, and too much cheese. (3) The chips were cooked nice and the salad and peas were nice. Big portions...

We ate here whilst camping locally. The staff are all really friendly and are a credit to the place. It's a lovely pub in a lovely village, but for some reason we were looked at like aliens by the locals...! The food is great and would've scored 5 stars, but 2 items our party ordered weren't available. It would have been nice to know what wasn't 'in stock' BEFORE we spent 5 minutes looking and choosing. We would definitely eat here again though and...
