Booked a table and arrived very early and they remembered we had put a special request in. They were very accommodating with my son who has social anxiety and they were very professional and friendly. Service was very quick and the staff were really great, taking orders quick and checking if we were OK. We all had something different and one of us had a carvery and they came and told us when our dinners were nearly ready so we could eat together. Kids portion was really generous and all dinners were really tasty. Goats cheese and red onion chutney pizza was amazing and even got to take the remainder home as couldn't finish it. All round a really great visit and they were very accommodating. I would just go a little earlier for dinner so quiet however was picking up by 6.30pm.

Came here last night for a family meal, food on the menu was bland and it took our whole table awhile to order as there wasn’t much choice. I chose the carvery which was nice, service was very slow but staff were friendly. It took too long for other people’s meals to arrive including 3 children who were served last. Nobody came up to the table to ask if everything was okay. Two of us ordered and paid for dessert and were told that they would be brought to the table, after 40 minutes of waiting for it to show up we asked about it we were told they had sold out of both cookies and bubble waffles, we thought that it was disgusting that nobody came over to simply inform us that they had ran out of food but instead kept us waiting! I wouldn’t choose this restaurant again.

Waited by the door for 5mins, gave up and sat down. No sausage and no black pudding and the pizza looked dry and disgusting, weird for a pizza place Went toilet, BOTH toilets were leaking at the seam. The chandelier was so low, it was banging my head at the only free table. Other tables hadn't been cleared the whole time we were there. So I thought, hmmm, they must be short staffed. One poor sod was managing the whole restaurant by himself. Then two kitchen staff came out and started talking for 10mins while still not replacing the food. Last time I go back here haha, what a DUMP!! Fair review from level 7 Google Guide

The visit was for Mother’s Day for breakfast. A little surprise trip out for my mum and what turned out to be the most awful meal and experience we have ever had. The staff were unprofessional and didn’t seem to look like they even wanted to be there. When arriving and saying we had a booking, we were greated by a lady pointing at a table in the distance and shouting booth 1 at us. After sitting down and having a look at what we wanted no one appeared or even told us that it wasn’t table service and you had to go to the bar. I ordered paid and still didn’t even get told that I then have to go and sort my own breakfast and drinks out? When eating, the food was fatty, grisserly and was luke warm. My mum then discovered a piece of plastic in her sausage so called the woman over to quietly complain who was shouting about how she couldn’t be bothered to answer the phone. She took the plate off of my mum, said “oh yes” and “go queue back up for another plate”. No apology no nothing. After this we decided to leave. On leaving the same women( manager I presume) didn’t even say bye/thank you/ have a nice day instead shouted “have you finished in booth 1, can we have it back” again, still no sorry about the plastic!?! The service was awful and being a young girl who works in a restaurant myself, I was utterly shocked at how appalling it was. After visiting for years for carveries when I was younger with family, we all commenting on how awful shocking the...

We dropped in on a Monday night, having been there a few times before for a carvery, thinking its a good bet for excellent food. How wrong we were. The carvery that night was done so we had a choice of pizzas or burgers. A 2 for the price of one, Monday special, get the cheapest one free. I asked for a naked burger, basically everything except the bun. My partner a Southern chicken style burger. My partners fillet was rock hard and dark brown from being in the heating oven too long. Mine arrived as two patties bropped on a plate, no garnish or salad, no sauce, and a scattered handful of fries. Needles to say i called the waiter over, sent back the chicken and asked for a side salad. When returning the food the manager told the chef about the food being sent back. Unfortunately for her, her remarks were in earshot and we heard the inconvenience we caused. The food was inedible. The lettece, cucumber and tomatoes were fresh and perfect and so was the fries.this is the second visit where the burger was a disappointment. Although I highly recommend the Carvery. Not sure you'll see our patronage again after the second chicken burger left equally, much to be desired. In future, do better, especially with staff on the floor dissing a customers request for quality of...

Popped in for Sunday lunch, it was busy. We got a table but felt a little cramped, it was like a walk through bit of the pub, so it wasn’t that nice. It was by a pillar, but still felt in the way.

The staff told me the carvery was about to run out, so I went straight there. The queue was up the stairs, blocking others from walking up properly and parents with their toddlers squeezing past, just wasn’t super as an experience. Then you get off the stairs to only block the entry and exit of the kitchen as you queue for the carvery- some dafty thinks this works and it does not.

Turns out there was plenty of carvery except for the roast potatoes; I took the last ones except for one (to be polite).

The carvery was nice, decent quality and size and well priced.

My partner had the veggie burger which he enjoyed, few onions rings too.

I noticed after getting some drinks there was food on the floor and around the tables, which isn’t great. But the staff were busy.

I reckon this pub needs a shake up, put two pans of roasties on the go, put a queue system at the carvery so you aren’t blocking the stairs and generally check the floor for...
