Ballyclare Golf Club — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

So after being recommended here by multiple friends I decided to take my mum for a nice meal and check it out , I booked a week in advance and arrived fifteen minutes early , spoke to a young guy in an apron who told us to wait in the bar and he would bring menus ! I’m still waiting for him to do that , after half an hour I went to ask the bar staff for menus , still none , after another fifteen minutes I went round to the restaurant and spoke to a very nice and helpful young woman who furnished us with the long awaited menus , so we put in our order then waited another half an hour to be taken into a practically empty and apparently “ unusually quiet “ restaurant , now during all this time I heard various people come in saying “ we haven’t booked but could we get food “ oh yes no problem was the reply , they had been , eaten and we’re long gone by the time we got our food, we booked a week in advance for a 5 pm meal in a very quiet restaurant and eventually sat down to eat at 6 pm , as mum is diabetic among other things it was very close to us having to leave , however , I’m afraid the extra long wait wasn’t worth it for either of us , meals were bland to say the least , all my friends who recommended this place have said it was an unusual experience as they’re always very quick and good , and I should give it another go , I don’t think I’ll bother , I’d say if you keep up this level of service you should probably get used to being quiet, strangely enough two of the friends who had recommended me to come here came in with no booking at 5.15 so they also experienced the awful service , all in all very poor and absolutely NOT...

When my mum passed away we were recommended to use Ballyclare Golf Club for the after funeral refreshments. I am so glad that we did. They provided a private function room and the service was second to none. The food was amazing and the staff were professional and offered a great spread at short notice just two days after Xmas. After pre booking and paying for golf in advance on the understanding that we would require buggies due to 2 disabled players, were told that only members were allowed buggies out and that was final .After travelling buy taxi to the course were forced not abandon our day and lost a whole day of our 4 day golf break.
