Good enough pizza, Cano’s has been around Tyrone for years. You can see why as there are not many pizzerias you would sit in in Tyrone and call them a restaurant. The choice of pizzas, toppings, desserts and starters as well as pastas are really good. Service was very friendly and the price was reasonable. 2 large gourmet pizzas , 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 dips for £32.50 However I’m not sure if I’d come again. Honestly I feel you can get just as good and probably better pizza from a few well known takeaways in Tyrone and eat it at home or in your car for less money. It doesn’t set itself apart enough as a proper pizzeria or Italian, I left feeling like it was “grand” but nothing special. We were going to have dessert but nothing made us want to stay, the whole place seemed rushed and staff wanted you in and out. No cash and time limit on the table was annoying.

Nice area clean and lovely decor, except for toilets beside the bar were awful for a restaurant, food was lovely, some salad starter (rocket and parmesan) is extremely small for the price, served on a side plate no more than a few pence worth, staff friendly and helpful, two cocktails on offer tried both, they were not well presented at all, spicy margarita was not spicy but just a standard margarita. Cabonara I enquired before ordering and it is not original it's made with cream etc, sadly. (I think that all restaurants toilets reflect all of the establishment, definitely need revamped and brought up to higher standard) I do think a bit more effort could go into the plates as £6/£7 for a couple of cuts of French bread and tiny dips, or a handful of rocket and parmesan is excessive. Ceaser salad I asked for chicken but didn't have any on when arrived at table.

Everything fine and dandy. Normal pizza bases weren't vegan so I had to have the gluten free one. Gluten free base and no cheese means it was just kind of crispy bread with some tomato sauce, bit disappointing. The non-Vegans were all happy enough though.

2018 - I didn't mind it so much but some of the food was over priced for what you got. The pizza did taste good but the side of garlic bread with cheese at 5 pounds was asking a lot. My partner didn't enjoy her main, and she loves spag bol so that was a surprise

2023 - for some reason my partners family keep booking in here.

I'll start with the good. There is plenty of parking. Unfortunately that is where it ends.

The negatives. Staff, inattentive, uninterested and barely near enough to get their attention. I'm sorry but good service is a must in any restaurant but they were often gathered together in groups of 5 chatting. After waiting a fairly long time for the main we were never asked if we wanted more drinks, or if everything was to our liking (you'll see shortly it wasn't).

The food. The worst of it. It was no better than a 1 pound frozen meal from Iceland. It tasted worse. I had the lasagne. It was a pathetic portion about 4cm in height. The menu promised layers of Ragu and bechamel sauce. I got garbage. I'd say it was about 4 X 2 inches in diameter, which is a tiny portion and the garlic chips were reheated, grease sodden potato cubes. Not fries!

The garlic pizza bread had a decent base but no flavour of garlic (much like the garlic fries actually) I don't know if it was a cost saving measure but it tasted of tomato sauce and cheese not a whiff of garlic. Very vampire friendly.

My partner again had the Bolognese and she again thought very little of it. The portion size for her was okay but the sauce was bland and an idiot could cook spaghetti properly.

I've had better Italian meals from non-Italian restaurants and roadside cafes. I'd avoid unless you want to overpay...

The restaurant was fairly empty tonight, but upon arrival without booking, we were received with awkwardness, as they seemed too busy to take us even though there clearly was lots of space. They found us a table (within the lots of empty ones). Food came promptly (again, place was not very busy). 2 hours on, we receive the bill. Thing is, we DID NOT ask for it. We felt we were being evicted. Anyway, we got our coats and went to the cashier to pay.

I asked what time do they close (it was 9pm), lady says 9:30pm-10pm (website stated 10pm). I say, I ask because we did not ask for the bill. Cashier pretends she doesn’t hear. I ask, did you hear what I said? She says yes and goes on with her cheeky reply: We have a policy of 2 hours. I ask, where does it say that? On the website when you book, she says. But we did not book, to which again I get yet another cheeky response: well, you will know for next time.

Sorry, there won’t be a next time.

By the way, I just made a booking and cancelled and YOUR WEBSITE DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE you have a 2 hour policy ;)

I’d have understood if the place were packed with customers awaiting, but out of all the tables available, there were THEEE occupied!!! Very bad call!

Bad customer service, or cheeky one...

This wasn’t my first visit to this restaurant – I had been here before with friends for a birthday, and later we came back just the two of us. On that occasion, we spent around £100 and stayed for about 4 hours, simply wanting to talk and enjoy our time. Unfortunately, the waitresses kept coming over, asking if we wanted to order more, or if we had finished and whether they should pack the rest of our food. This behavior felt completely inappropriate.

Most recently, we went again – just the two of us. We had reserved a table for three, but one friend cancelled at the last minute. A staff member seated us at high chairs, which were uncomfortable for health reasons. Right away, she told us that we only had 2 hours because the restaurant was “fully booked” afterwards. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm. Later, we were moved to another room, where two families with children, an older couple, and a group of four elderly ladies were seated. None of them were told they had only 2 hours at their table.

I was very unpleasantly surprised and feel unfairly treated. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for a longer, relaxing evening with conversation in a...
