After coming across their page on Instagram, I couldn't resist visiting this charming tea room. Upon arrival, the queue for indoor dining was overwhelming, but luckily, they offered outdoor seating which suited us just fine. We were promptly seated and excitedly placed our order. Our selections included the piri piri chicken sandwich, the coronation chicken sandwich, a portion of fries to share, pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup, and two cappuccinos—one with regular milk and one with oat milk.
The sandwiches were bursting with flavor from fresh ingredients, and the pancakes were very fluffy and soft. While the coffee was enjoyable, a bolder brew would have been preferred as it felt slightly diluted. The display of tray bakes was a sight to behold, offering a tempting array of choices that had me deliberating for a good 10 minutes. In the end, I settled on the lemon meringue mini pie, lotus rocky road, and kinder blondie, all of which proved to be delightful and perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth.
Staff were very friendly and attentive and the total price for everything we got came around 43 pounds. Overall, this spot is definitely worth a visit for its delectable offerings and cozy...
Read moreHave been here a few times and the food has been lovely, however today we had to leave after sitting at the table for nearly 45 mins waiting on our food and drinks, the waitress then arrived at the table to say they had ran out of what we had ordered upon arrival. I understand it was very busy but it should be communicated to staff when menu items run out so that they know not to take orders for them, we didn't have much time and wouldn't have took up the table space had we known. When we were sat at the table we waited a while on menus then the waitress came down to tell us that we had to order as hot food service ended at 3pm, might be handy to have this information displayed outside so the people queuing know that they have to be in before 3pm. It might also be handy to look after the seated guests first rather than trying to cram people into the cafe and have them waiting at tables with no menus. The food is always good and I'm sure people will be happy to wait if they are communicated with a bit better. I understand these are difficult times and service has changed a little but some staff training and attention to customer...

It was good to finally be able to get in without a queue (up til now I've just found somewhere else, because there's been a LONG queue), I also liked having a table in the little alcove.
I had Eggs Benedict, and it all looked nice and tasted good... but one egg was a little under done, the bacon had a huge amount of unsightly barely cooked rind, and considering it was Eggs Benedict there wasn't nearly enough hollandaise sauce (and it was too thick to be called sauce)
All the staff were pleasant... but nobody was bothered whether everything was well with my food - once food arrived I didn't see anyone again, nobody checked if I was happy while I ate, the girl at the till just took my money and that was it.
All the cakes look nice... but all the tray bakes scream the words heart attack and obesity crisis owing to their immense size.
I expect I'll try another visit at some point, though as I don't live far away I'd probably...
