We booked 3 rooms for 4 adults & stayed a full week to celebrate my mom's retirement. ||The location, in Ballymena, is ideal because tourist sights such as Giants Causeway, the Rope Bridge, Glens of Antrim, Dunluce & Kinsbane castles, & the Titanic Experience, all in County Antrim, are each a short 30-45 minute drive. If you don't want to go anywhere, Oranmore House & her beautifully landscaped grounds make a lovely & relaxing place to spend a restful vacation day. ||Upon arrival, we felt jet-lagged & very tired, but Fenton & Geraldine made sure all of our needs were met & made us feel at home. The house itself is absolutely beautiful. The lounge & bar are well appointed & cozy. We loved having evening drinks in the lounge where Fenton took good care of us & shared with us the history of the house itself. The dining rooms are elegant & intimate. The menus offer a wide variety of options including gluten free, vegetarian, & vegan. The chefs, Fiona and Gerard, create the most delicious & beautiful dishes. You won't be disappointed. Be sure to try the salmon, the sirloin steak, the sticky toffee pudding, & afternoon tea! Whenever you plan to dine, make a reservation. Everything we tasted was beyond expectations, so it's not surprising this B&B restaurant is popular with guests who are staying at Oranmore & with locals driving in for a meal! |The room we booked in the main house was absolutely lovely & the 2 rooms in the Hunter's Lodge were comfortable, providing everything we needed. Beds are very comfortable & each room has a coffee/tea set-up & bottled water provided daily. Windows provide lovely views & comfortable ventilation on cooler Northern Ireland nights, but request a fan for warmer summer nights. ||There is a lovely, sunny courtyard beautifully decorated with colorful flowers & bustling with views into Oranmore's professional kitchen & the back-and-forth trips of her housekeeping staff. I wish Oranmore sold memorabilia such as postcards, small paintings of the grounds, or even their lovely blue aprons as souvenirs! They do sell their delicious jams & jellies made on location. ||Oranmore House is a family establishment & staying a full week allowed us the privilege of getting to know Fiona, Gerard, Geraldine, Conner, Sarah, & Fenton. We want to thank them as well as Sandra, Ionella, Alex, & the rest of the staff for a most wonderful &...

Read moreAfter much research, I had booked Oranmore as I wanted a special experience to celebrate my aunt’s 80th birthday. And what an experience- I was certainly not disappointed. The location, the staff, the quality of the food and how it was presented - there are simply no superlatives to describe what we enjoyed today. The sandwiches and cream scones were beautiful but we particularly enjoyed the soup and the sausage rolls and as for the sweet section, simply delicious. And as much tea or coffee as you could consume. We also appreciated the fact that all the food did not arrive at the one time - we had time to enjoy the savouries and then the sweet goodies arrived. ||||A special mention of the birthday cake for my aunt! What we couldn’t eat, we were able to take home for another day. ||||We didn’t feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our family time together in such wonderful surroundings- a visit around the gardens is also highly recommended. ||||Many thanks for all you did today - you made a huge contribution to the success of our...
