The Corner House Bar — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Staff were slow taking orders, got seated then waited 10 minutes for a drink order to be told we where forgotten about by same waitress that brought us to our table, then we got our food order, waitress was abit ignorant when asked for kids meal because not everyone can eat a big portion of food so took the adult portion, extra veg was substituted for roast potato had asked for broccoli an received no broccoli, food was drenched in gravy. Have the gravy as a side for the customer to choose the amount they wish to put on their food they paid for. The food portions are small especially for the price being paid the quality was not great either, the roast beef was dry an cold, got like 2 tea spoons amount of veg an that is not an exaggeration, one portion of veg was 2 tiny slices of carrot, 2 cut up bits of parsnip an 2 green beans that was double on the substitute order that is a small quantity, let alone the kids portions were very similar to an adult portion if not the same or slightly more as an adults is twice the price. Then went to pay for the bill at end and the owner was doing something by the register an instead of asking us as we were directly in front of him he walked away down the bar to another customer to take there bill. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone an will not be advising any family or friends to spend money here either, I will not be back.

Overpriced, poor quality food,...

Been here for dinner loads of times and the service and food has been great! But went last night with relatives from Australia and was embarrassed by how bad it was. One of us ordered a steak and most of it was fat. That person knows he's meat cos he's a butcher, and knows it shouldn't be like that. There was 8 of us. They sat us in a secluded area and kept forgetting about us. We were seated about 15 minutes before they even gave us menus, and I actually had to ask for them. Then had to go get the drinks menu myself. Took 50 minutes for our food to come. And didn't even bring all of it and had to ask for it, when asking the attitude we received was appalling. They never once came to check on us. Had to keep going hunting for people for things. Asked for water for the table, took forever to come and again the attitude of the man was terrible. And then charged us for the tap water!!! Even getting the bill was a struggle. Really put off going again. So embarrassed in-front of our relatives. And made what was meant to be a nice dinner out stressful. Wanted to show a typical Irish pub and typical Irish food with a relaxed atmosphere but did not get that!...

Me and my partner attended for lunch on a Saturday about a month ago We had ordered food and drinks. While eating my lunch I had asked the waitress for tap water and she said it was only bottled water that they offered. I asked the waitress again was there no way I could have tap water and she said only if I ordered dilute (obviously so they can charge while using tap water for the dilute). I think considering the fact we had already spent of 40 pound on food and drinks it wasn’t much to ask for tap water. In addition to this, one of the waitresses weren’t wearing a mask. Considering we are still in a pandemic and they’re in a public facing role, the waitress has a duty of care to the general public to wear a mask, especially because we aren’t wearing masks when eating food.
