Royal Dragon Restaurant — Restaurant in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Sorry I hate to leave bad reviews and i never normally do so , but I love Chinese food and when I found we had a restaurant in Nuneaton Iv been bugging my partner to go here for ages , iv been to a few other ones out the area and also order Chinese takeaway from Nuneaton (not this restaurant) fairly often as it’s my favourite cuisine , sp when tonight my partner finally agreed to us going here I was very disappointed in the food , so much so that I threw up straight after my meal in the car , which is not like me , the soup starter had zero seasoning I had to had salt then my partners stater was well over cooked and he Did not enjoy , the main was even worse sadly the chips was like smart price really chip chips and the whole meal was really not very nice at all we had 2 mains and 2 sides and not one item from them all was very nice , we left way over half and for 2 of us cost £82 which is fine as this is pretty normal price to eat out but when eating out compared to ordering you expect to pay for the quality and this was just not it , very disappointed and gutted I threw up and we did not eat hardly anything, won’t be going again and like I said I don’t normally leave negative reviews as I know it can affect a business, but I’m sorry I have to express this , would not go again , disappointed and gutted after all this time it...

Decided to visit on a miserable Thursday evening and so glad we did. The staff here are so attentive, and not intrusive, such an asset to the restaurant. The food was excellent, some exquisite tastes, subtle flavours in the right quantities too. This took me back years, just how Chinese restaurant's used to be. The food was brought out fresh, meaning that we had to wait a few extra minutes for some dishes. This is due to the chef sending the dish out as soon as it was cooked, meaning the tastes and heat was just as it should be. The cost was slightly more than I thought it would be, (the price I have listed included a couple of bottles of wine, so dont be mislead 😁) however when I say "slightly" more, this is worth every penny and so much more. The staff, atmosphere and quality of the food is exemplary! Well done to all, bar staff, servers, and chef(s) who contributed to a lovely night.

Safe to say, having now read the reviews and seeing it can be slightly “hit & miss” I would have not visited the restaurant.

It was very busy on entrance, the staff looked on tender hooks and were scurrying around. As we ordered, we then noticed, what looked like, two food safety officials come from the kitchen in white coats and hair nets with clip boards. They stood talking for a while with who we believe to be the manager/owner.

Our order was Szechuan Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Duck in Plum Sauce with Egg Fried Rice and a portion of chips.

Portions were sparse, one bowl of rice to share (apparently it was two portions in one) and over cooked chips.

Flavour wise, there was nothing at all.

Both dishes were as bland as it gets. The Szechuan Chicken sauce was like runny gravy and the Duck in Plum was much like warm Soy Sauce.

So, that will definitely be the first and last visit.
