The Cafe — Restaurant in Oldham

Went here on 31st January, did not have loads of time so was glad to see only a few tables occupied as I find the service slow when it's packed. Took a while to order, young man front of staff bit moany about his lot. Waited for 20 minutes, nothing, coffee going cold. Asked the young man how long the wait was, he said, we were waiting due to bacon taking a long time to cook. I informed him I had cooked bacon and it does not take that long, he then said they had an Uber order, told him I did not know I was in competition with take aways, he was rude and said I had not ordered that long ago. It was 25 minutes including the wait for him to take the order. I found him rude and disrespectful I am an actual customer bothering to go into the cafe. I have been going there for at least 26+ years... I will not be back, after 30 minutes got 2 poached eggs and 4 slices of dry bacon with a Luke warm coffee. I would have walked out but my son was a bit conflicted. Too much time spent on Uber orders, not a good dining experience, 😔 after all...

Food lovely but one very quite rude member of staff, I arrived at 2pm and it said it doesn’t close until 3pm I asked nicely if they were still serving and she gave a rude response made me feel unwelcome and said they have stopped doing food. People still inside eating and a lovley woman came over as I was leaving and told me to order she will make it no problem. We absolutely love The Cafe and we do probably order at least once a week. We do get breakfast and lunch! The food is always absolutely delicious and great portion sizes too! I love the little touches too, such as the odd extra crusty bread with our salad or sometimes a slice of cake with a little note and a smile! Great service, great food! Love it! Just sometimes they are so busy delivery is turned off but that just goes to show how popular they are!...
