KFC Oldham - Huddersfield Road — Restaurant in Oldham

I went today (Friday) where both online and via the KFC app it was stated that the KFC is open for dine-in until 10pm and open for drive-through orders until 11pm.

I arrived at 9pm with my brother and the front door was locked, the dining area was barricaded off besides two tables (where people were literally sitting and eating) and the staff told us that they’d “turned off the tills” and that they were closed. They refused to serve us and sent us on our way- despite there clearly being loads of delivery drivers picking up food, people literally eating inside and the kitchen clearly still being open.

I took their word for it and left, before realising that the store was supposed to be open according to the online and in-app opening times. So, I went back inside and showed them the store opening times online. The supervisor said we could order via drive though (despite us not having a car- they told us to just go out and order at the window ?) and after pushing to be served inside they said we could order through the app, which we did.

Clearly the supervisor was sending customers away so they could close up the store early on a Friday and they literally made the whole store so unwelcoming- literally turning customers away and refusing to allow us to order. If I didn’t constantly push to be served and fact check them then we wouldn’t have been served at all despite it being a whole entire hour before eat-in dining is supposed to be closed.

The only reason I haven’t given one star is because of Christina. If I could give her 5 stars just for the sincere integrity in her soul then I would. She was the only person who seemed to care about doing her job, she was the only one who listened and tried to help and she was also the only one who apologised for the uncomfortable faff of the whole situation. The whole time she was working away, cleaning up the floors and sorting the bins and really focusing on slaying at everything she does- and of course being the only listening ear for me and my brother who actually wanted to help us.

If it weren’t for Christina I would’ve felt so mugged off by the whole situation, but she apologised for a situation that wasn’t her fault, she let us sit inside without making us feel unwelcome, she listened and helped with every single thing I asked of her, she worked hard the whole entire time, she didn’t try to cut corners for personal gain and as I was leaving she wished me a nice evening with such genuine authenticity that I just couldn’t feel bad anymore. Credit where credit is due: she is an underrated queen and is the only person in the whole staff who has deep integrity in her soul.

And for the record i literally understand that sometimes people have a bad day or that they don’t want to sell their soul to a corporation that doesn’t value them or that literally all of us are forced to work for an unfair capitalist society where we can’t afford homes and the cost of living is through the roof, and that maybe being refused to be served at KFC one time is a privileged first-world problem but on a basic human-person level literally there is no need to be rude or lie or literally mug people off who just want a silly little snack. Like, it just really wasn’t a vibe. Except for...

Just ordered this kfc off justeat, second time in a row they have not sent the popcorn chicken, so either the driver is munching it on the way or the staff have made the same mistake twice, so i rang kfc direct to be told nothing they can do and the woman who prepared my food is sure she put it in therefore im lying about a box of popcorn chicken, so i explained its more annoying thats its the kids food and they said so do u want to complain, so i said who am i speaking to he said the manager so i said ill just have the food sent its for the kids tea, and its on the recipt that ive paid so its not just eats fault its yours for not sending the food ive paid for, he said ive not a driver available, u do when i spend 30 quid with u tho dont u!! oh and by the way takes 10 mins to get here, and comes cold, what a joke, wont be giving u my money for your cold food with half of...

As always i do not get paid for these contributions, although i wouldnt refuse it. Ok KFC..where can you go wrong unless your a vegan?. My love of (kentucky fried chicken) goes back a long way, but i wont let that influence an honest review. The branch we recently visited as we passed through was along Huddersfield rd near Oldham town centre. Good friendly staff, the place seems to be kept clean and tidy. At this branch (sounds like a bank) you have the choice of eating in, popping round for a takeaway, or even picking up a drive through meal. There's an ample parking area plus home delivery is available. The only slight negative from my experience was to check your order before you leave. These guys work so fast preparing orders that occasionally you may find your sachet of sauses or whatever little extras you like may have been fogotten.. its really tasty food...
