Jade City — Restaurant in Preston

There's a conundrum with Western adapted Chinese food. You can get small portions but better taste at higher prices. You can also get the opposite. This place is in the 2nd category. The duck was nice but quite fatty, and unfortunately wasn't shredded like usual from other restaurants. I'd suggest they rename it to duck on the bone with pancakes. The salt and pepper chips were a massive portion, which amazed me but the taste was almost nonexistent. Curry sauce was a little cold but nice. The Hoisin sauce was lush. Cucumber was a bit dry. Satay chicken skewers was better in the morning after 3 of the 4 marinating in their sauce.

I've tried authentic Chinese food, I love it, I've obviously has a run in my half life with Western adapted Chinese food, and this one I'd go to if I've got no money and fancy a treat. However if I fancy a real treat, I'd not use Jade City again.

The food is generally good, however the delivery service is beyond a shambles. We ordered food on just eat and were told it would be with us at 8.30 then it was changed to 8.50. We rang at 9.05 to see how long it was going to be to firstly be told two drivers have been and your road is closed then realised she had the wrong address. Then we are told your food isn’t cooked yet as we are waiting for a driver! Why confirm it’ll be with us around 8.50 when you have problems with no driver. Then to add insult to injury she says it’s nit my fault I only work here I don’t own it. Needless to say no food arrived and we are still waiting to get out money back. Very very poor service, bad telephone manner and disgusted that no one informed us that there was...

I placed an order for chow mein, specially fried rice, and Salt and Chilli Chicken wings from the restaurant. Surprisingly, it arrived quicker than expected. However, upon opening the package, my wife discovered that the chicken was spoiled. The taste and smell were clearly unpleasant. We visited the restaurant hoping for a replacement, but they seemed indifferent. They took back all our meals and suggested we seek a refund online. Regrettably, no apologies were offered, and they mentioned being busy with other orders. It's disappointing that they didn't handle the situation well. I'd caution others against ordering at this restaurant to avoid potential food...
