I visit Costa Coffee more than frequently here in Manchester and yesterday (15th June) had to have a meet up with a business colleague in Preston, so suggested this Costa Coffee............WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! The service was disgusting. If you are familiar with the concept of 'customer service', then avoid this branch of Costa at all costs. They have no idea! The staff were incredibly rude (even tutting when a customer asked about their order, having stood there for at least 10 minutes, and it wasn't busy, she was the only customer at the counter when I walked in and only about 4 customers sat at tables so it's not as if they were swamped with orders from inside or the drive-thru) Of all the different Costa Coffee branches I visit, this is easily the worst. Read moreHad to ask server to clear a table for us to sit,quite a number of tables needed to be cleared which was rather off-putting. But there appeared to be staff shortage and no one designated in particular to do that task. Staff pleasant enough but the waitress/server had quite a strong foreign accent that it was quite hard to catch what she said,I must however add that she was courteous, pleasant and helpful. Food quite OK,nothing special and quite pricey as this place and others very similar to this often are! Popular place also it seems for white collar workers to make it their' mini office' and sit there with laptop etc and a coffee and attend to their business. The foreign staff member 0 with ear clip threw a wobble when I spoke to him about it but he didn't listen to wot I was saying he started to rant about Covid....he couldn't create more chairs and he was loosing staff !!!
