AVOID! Absolutely disgusting! Was really ill after eating here! Someone is going to get serious food poisoning! Would give zero stars if I could. We went here and the toilets were closed so had to use the disabled, it was putrid! The toilet and sink had smears of human waste and the smell was unbearable. The dirt and grime on everything, including the baby changing station was disgusting. Even the ‘cleaning in progress’ sign was filthy. The cleaning chart on the door showed the toilet had been checked and cleaned! Probably not in a few months I’d say! We nearly walked out after that but we were hungry and hadn’t eaten all day so decided to turn a blind eye!
Food was out within 5 minutes of ordering - sounds great but how does anyone cook food that quick? They don’t - my sons pizza was still frozen, all food was cold, chicken was sloppy and beef was like leather! Every meal was unsatisfactory - I wouldn’t even serve it to my dog. We raised the issue with the frozen pizza, they took it back and cooked it with in an inch of its life and you couldn’t even get a steak knife through it, let alone your teeth, ended up being Inedible.
We were told the beef (which you couldn’t cut with a knife) was acceptable and there was nothing that could be done about it as Greene King are responsible for the food ordered from its suppliers. This was a cooking issue, nothing to do with the supplier!
After it became apparent all meals were affected the manager came over and offered to change the beef dinner, ordered a medium steak instead and it came back crucified. Again, can’t get your teeth through it.
The manager told us all food is temperature checked with a probe and said he watched the cook probe the pizza and it was fine - it was frozen solid in the middle! I said it was impossible it was checked or the probe is broken. The manager then became aggressive with me and asked If I was accusing him of lying! The pizza was clearly frozen solid.
Mixed grill came and half of the meat was missing, we weren’t informed but just given an extra two pieces of chicken! Chicken was cold and sloppy, not even luke warm! They can’t say it was left to cool down as the order came out within 5mins of ordering and wouldn’t have had chance to cool, let alone cook. Couldn’t even cook the fried egg properly, was mostly runny egg white.
Being busy can’t be used as an excuse, place was empty - no wonder!
Disgusting hygiene, disgusting food, disgusting floor manager. General manager came out in the end and apologised, asked us to go back and he would give us a discount - NOT A CHANCE!
Won’t step foot in this place again! It’s only a matter of time until someone gets...
Read moreWent for a meal here with my friend after a day of travelling from Sunderland, and about every aspect of this meal went wrong. We sat down at a table to order food and drinks through the app, only to discover the table was disgustingly sticky and most of the summer cocktails plus the promotion were missing from the app. My ‘woo woo’ came, which appeared to just be a double peach vodka lemonade. A short while later, the food came, and the quality was atrocious. I ordered a Tikka Masala with the upgrade to include an Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Pakora, the curry was flavourless, the rice dry and the Bhaji was so badly burned it was completely black and crumbling. My friend ordered the Tandoori Sizzling platter, which arrived with spoiled vegetables, stale tortilla wraps, and all of the vegetables were completely black. Upon learning we had to grab our own cutlery and condiments, I headed to the station to find two knives and one fork, which was surprising given the restaurant was very quiet at this time, We asked a waitress for some cutlery, only to be met with an eye roll and a sigh, and eventually some extra cutlery after a long wait. The portion size of both meals was quite small, especially my curry. Still being hungry, we put an order through for dessert and decided to use the bar this time for drinks, to take advantage of the cocktail promotion. My friend ordered another Woo Woo and a Miami Peach and casually joked about my first Woo Woo not having any cranberry juice. The bartender got extremely defensive and said that they had ran out of cranberry juice then proceeded to fill half a glass with it. Then he got onto making the drink order and made a Miami Peach and a Sex on the Beach instead. Due to his defensive nature, we chose to let it slide and just enjoy our dessert. This arrived with a snarky comment about not ordering any more food due to being short staffed and closing early. Throughout enjoying our dessert, we were met with multiple waiters and waitresses coming to give us dirty looks and sweeping away anything on the table the second we put it down, obviously trying to pressure us into leaving. We gave in and got up to leave around 9.30pm after finishing our drinks, not feeling welcome to order anymore. There were multiple groups still sitting around the bar area, so we are not sure why we were singled out and pressured to leave. All round the experience was extremely uncomfortable and I would not recommend if looking for a peaceful meal...
Read moreArrived yesterday, booked a table for 6 people, and only 4 of us turned up. We was promptly seated at a table that maybe could fit 2 people at most. Squeezed into a corner, after complaining we were moved to another table.
When it came to ordering we were told that Steak and Pizza was not available. We initially ordered 4x Cheesy Garlic Ciabatta's, 1 Side of Nacho Bacon Cheese Fries, 2 Chicken New Yorkers, 1 Mini Mixed Grill, and a All Day Breakfast.
After waiting 15 minutes for the starters, they arrived. They looked like someone had just sprinkled some cheddar cheese on top of a regular ciabatta (I have ordered this before, and it was not what it came like). They tasted good, so that was fine.
We then waited 30 minutes, for the the Team Leader to come out and tell us that there was no Chicken Fillets left so we couldn't have the 2x Chicken New Yorkers. We replaced the New Yorkers with Chicken Tikka Curries.
30 Minutes later our food arrived, this being 1 hour and 15 minutes after the initial order, and 1 hour after our starters arrived.
The food came and it all looked rushed out, and ill prepared. We asked for Salt, Pepper, Ketchup and Mayo, to which the server said that they had no salt, ketchup or vinegar, and came out with a lot of pepper, and four packets of Mayo.
The All day breakfast looked about average, and the Mini Mixed Grill (which came with chicken fillets?) looked plain. The curries looked watery. They sent out Mac and Cheese fries rather than Nacho Cheese and Bacon, however after noting this to a server, they were replaced, note the portion of the replaced fries where a lot smaller than usual.
A portion of chips came with both Curries and the Mini Mixed Grill, the chips looked under cooked, and they come out slightly warm at best.
We didn't complain as the place looked really busy, but we ate our food and decided to order dessert.
35 minutes after ordering the dessert it finally showed up. After eating our desert we left the restaurant, we wasn't really pleased about the overall experienced but it wasn't something alone that I would write a review about.
However, come to this morning all 4 of us have woken up with extremely bad stomach ache, I am not entirely sure what it was, but we were assuming it was the chips.
I'd suggest avoiding...
