The Plungington Hotel — Restaurant in Preston

Today we found door staff quite balshy. Definitely not friendly. We took our children to family birthday party. The door staff were insistent that they had to leave by 7.30pm. We were happy with that although it does seem a little early on a weekend. I ordered a drink at the bar at 7.10pm and even the bar staff reminded me that that our 2 children had to leave by 7.30pm.but I did already know this. The security then hovered around our table even though there were other children in the bar ,this was around 7.26. My children were being behaved so not sure why (we definitely felt unwelcome, maybe this place is just for the locals). It was our first and last visit I'm afraid. Money might by you refit but...

Had a good and substantial lunch. Four in party excellent lamb burger witj nice spicing, lovely moule frites which you could have with Leffe beer for full Belgium experience. Massive and delicious freshly cooked chicken breast salad with lots of goats cheese and pine nuts and a fairly run of the mill beefburger. Beer was good. Beer garden large, staff very friendly and service good. Downsides. There was only one table with an umbrella and beer garden is a real suntrap and parking is on the roadside in busy built up area so if pub very busy you coild end up with a bit of a walk but I would say worth the effort if that was the case . We have recently visited our potentially new local pub lovely deco candles lit everywhere :-) Food very nice but really didn't enjoy eating my meal surrounded by dogs And also the fact that one of the locals Freely allowed his dog to use the beer garden as a toilet very disappointed as the pub has 2 areas and one could be used as a restaurant only where dogs wouldn't be allowed I wouldn't dream of taking my dog into a restaurant /Bar Carpeted Bar area had food on the floor where children had eaten so the dogs had a...
