It's surprising that a simple task like cooking bacon properly seems to be overlooked. Additionally, they ran out of bacon by 11:30 AM, which is unacceptable for a breakfast service. It only takes a few minutes to cook more, yet it seemed like they couldn't be bothered. The sausage was overcooked, the butter was hard, and the beans were cold. Served a few microwaved little potatoes with a slightly odd curry sauce. (Broccoli and sweetcorn anyone?) The cream served with the scones wasn't clotted cream and the jam was very cheap stuff from a plastic pot. Some of the crockery wasn't very clean and the table had the previous person's crumbs and a few bits of rice left over. It also wasn't very warm! It's a great meeting place for all ages whether you are just strolling through the village or walking your dog everyone is welcomed here.
