Midday Sun — Restaurant in Reigate and Banstead

I was disgusted with my trip to your pub this evening. When I went to the bar to order food and drinks, I was met by what I could only assume was the 'Manager', an arrogant sounding female, who was more interested in two girls who had apparently come for an interview than actually serving her customers. She was telling them, as well as half the bar, how she was going to do a joint interview and how they were Front of House staff but would be trained in all areas as they would be 'wherever she needed them', as well as being kitchen trained. She then went to get them application forms and reiterated again how excited she was to interview them, how their details had to be correct in their application forms as she would use that to put them onto the system but how they weren't to worry about too much detail as the company just 'wants to know everything about you'. Much to my relief, after some time, another Manager walked passed to which she beckoned to if he could come and service myself and another customer. As soon as he stepped behind the bar once again she made a big song and dance about these two girls who had come for an interview as if to justify why she wasn't serving. Having been a General Manager for Harvester in the past, this is most definitely NOT how you run a business. You ask the interviewees to take a seat and go to them WHEN YOU'RE FREE, NOT WHEN YOU HAVE CUSTOMERS TO SERVE! And as for a 'double interview', simply because they were 'best friends'... never seen such poor management in my life. I will never be returning to your Midday Sun pub and will be actively speaking against it...

We have regularly been to the the Hungry Horse on a number of occasions and always found there to be good service, friendly staff and the foods been reasonable and fairly priced.

We recently went on father's day as a large family group, whilst I appreciate the staff were busy and we allowed for that with wait time etc, Mary, the waitress serving, was unbelievably rude to family members when they ordered food. 45 minutes after waiting for the kids meals to come out, I politely asked if they had any idea roughly how long the food would be, which was met with Mary shouting Infront of a number of shocked people at the bar that the food will take as long as it takes and the predicted time was 30-40 minutes from when we ordered. It was really awful behaviour and not one I would ever expect, especially as we weren't kicking off or anything. My in-laws were really upset when we left as they go regularly and have never seen the staff behave in such an unprofessional manner. We also witnessed her being rude to a number of other tables/people at the bar.

When the food came out most of it was really overdone. Our table was never cleared even after our puddings were served, the plates were just pushed to one side.

The only positive note is the ladies who served us the food from the kitchen were lovely and clearly working so hard that day!

Based on our last experience we will never...

It's so interesting that people reference their experience of great customer service, as that was NOT my experience at all!. My sister reserved a table and was running late, so asked us to ensure we didn't miss the reservation. From the minute I walked in, I was stared at very dismissively with no smile or friendly demeanour. I gave the name the table was booked in. I was then told by the same staff member: "the table is somewhere towards there either on the right or the left"!. I know it's not the DORCHESTER, but we roamed around the tables before eventually locating our table. The lady (blonde with hair in a ponytail) really couldn't have been more unhelpful. Went to order, and met with the same lady at the bar exuding the same passive aggressive mannerisms, whilst being VERY polite, empathetic and friendly with other customers. That's what really did it for me and made me know it was PERSONAL!. I ordered food and 6 drinks. Couldn't even offer me a tray to carry them all to our far corner table. Food was nice. Manager was walking around to various tables and interacting with customers and their children but never came to our table to ask how our meals were etc.

Never felt so unwelcome.! Our server was VERY nice though. Hope he's treated with more dignity as...
